Description: Cicala Trattoria - Back in 1997 a unique opportunity started to present itself in the centre of Prague - an opportunity to taste the real Italian cuisine flourishing under the baton of the culinary maestro Aldo Cicala. Today it has already been fifteen years since the restaurant opened for the first time and over these years it has won renown for its cosy family atmosphere, received numerous prestigious awards and welcomed many famous personalities. The restaurant owes its success first and foremost to its rich homemade Italian cuisine served with great attention to detail under the supervision of the talented chef David Cicala and to its emphasis on the quality of traditional ingredients. The restaurant also earned its high reputation thanks to the always friendly and accommodating staff who are also members of the Cicala family and create a genuine family atmosphere.

We had a wonderful evening with fantastic Italian food. Antipasto and a variety of pasta. A great host and great hospitality!

If like us you don't like heavy Czech food, this is a great alternative. The restaurant itself is lovely, the food good, the prices are reasonable and the staff very friendly. The house white was very drinkable. All in all a very pleasant evening. We would definitely eat there again if/when we return to Prague.

We really enjoyed this little place. Dining downstairs in a cellar room was warm and cozy without feeling at all closed in. The food was great (caprese salad and spaghetti carbonara), as was the espresso. Very reasonably priced. Going out of the main tourist areas is definitely the secret to getting great food very inexpensively.

This restaurant is located near the state opera house, in a high-traffic neighborhood curiously lacking in restaurants of any kind. At first glance, it looked like a very small establishment, perhaps a bar or a takeout place, with no tables. No one seemed to be around, but since we were running out of time to get supper prior to the... More

It sure is true about getting off of the heavily touristed areas and restaurants are higher quality and cheaper in many cases. Trattoria Cicala is adorable. You'll be met by the owner of the restaurant, lead down into the basement, and enjoy your meal there. Lasagna was outstanding, Caprese salad, and the pastas too. Wonderful wait staff and the owner... We visit this restaurant because of the reviews on TripAdvisor. When we got there we entered but it was empty. Then some old guy not very pleasant pointed us to go downstairs, not something you understand by looking at the place. The main restaurant is down stairs and its lovely. fine Italian dishes.

You walk through the cafe and are directed by the owner downstairs. I felt like I walked into my grandparents basement....completely authentic and amazing. My parents are from Italy so having some real Italian food is a good thing. I started with the Caprese salad which had the most amazing buffalo mozzarella ever and fresh tomatoes. my mom started with... More

I had the large house salad when I visited here and it was great, the chef had forgotten to put any olives in, so when I asked the waiter about this, he returned with a large separate dish off olives, which we nibbled on throughout the rest of our meal. We also had the home made lasagne and this was... More

I went here last week as I wanted to try a new italian place in Prague and did not feel like the commercial brands. I must say it was surprisingly good, the authenticity of the restaurant was fantastic felt like a trattoria straight from italy. I had the linguine with pesto and the pasta was cooked to perfection. I really... More
