Description: Cicala Trattoria - Back in 1997 a unique opportunity started to present itself in the centre of Prague - an opportunity to taste the real Italian cuisine flourishing under the baton of the culinary maestro Aldo Cicala. Today it has already been fifteen years since the restaurant opened for the first time and over these years it has won renown for its cosy family atmosphere, received numerous prestigious awards and welcomed many famous personalities. The restaurant owes its success first and foremost to its rich homemade Italian cuisine served with great attention to detail under the supervision of the talented chef David Cicala and to its emphasis on the quality of traditional ingredients. The restaurant also earned its high reputation thanks to the always friendly and accommodating staff who are also members of the Cicala family and create a genuine family atmosphere.

I had the large house salad when I visited here and it was great, the chef had forgotten to put any olives in, so when I asked the waiter about this, he returned with a large separate dish off olives, which we nibbled on throughout the rest of our meal. We also had the home made lasagne and this was... More

I went here last week as I wanted to try a new italian place in Prague and did not feel like the commercial brands. I must say it was surprisingly good, the authenticity of the restaurant was fantastic felt like a trattoria straight from italy. I had the linguine with pesto and the pasta was cooked to perfection. I really... More

Ate here twice during our stay. Nice food, nice wine and nice people. A small menu done very well. The Parma ham and mozzarella were some of the best I have had for a long time. If you like service that is relaxed and unobtrusive then this is the place. An absolute pleasure.

We made reservations for two on a weekday, and got a nice table. The bruschetta was delicious, so was the pasta and wine, but after eating them, nobody even came to our table asking if we would have wanted anything more. We had planned on desserts, but with this poor service we decided to pay and leave, as it seemed... More

Extra-ordinary setting and beautiful. Service is individualized smoothly and is well co-ordinated, we almost felt as if we were dining alone. Our dining area was two levels down as if it had been crated from a medieval cave. Food is superb; the prices do not reflect the high quality. Absolutely would return. A friend. Recommended our going there and surely... More

My husband and I were in Prague for a week and were ready for something other than traditional Czech food. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend, so we decided to give it a try. Everything was wonderful. The food was fresh and it was a better Italian experience than I expected!

After having read the warm reviews on Trip Advisor I was looking very much forward to tasting the food of this place. So many things seemed to be likeable, judging from the excited reviews. Unfortunately my expectations were not met. The place itself looks tired and worn. As if they decorated it a long time ago, when they took it... More

Visiting Prague for a couple of days, and feeling interested to eat something else for a while than those greasy, though delicious local pork dishes, was lucky to get a table from this cosy but stylish Italian restaurant. I normally don't eat that much of Italian food outside Italy, as it seems to be a bit of.. disappointment quite often.... More

At first the service was good and the food was good also (althought the pasta carbonara didn't taste like carbonara...). Later, we didn't get any service. We would have wanted to have some dessert or something to drink but no one came to take our orders. And finally after hour of waiting they just brought us the bill.

Off the beaten track but in Zitna close to Wenceslas square, this little italian is a gem. Delightful tomato and mozzarella (what tasted like real buffala) salad to start with. J had a prawn cocktail. I followed with veal escalopes with mushrooms (and a delicious spinach side)and J had spaghetti carbonara. All very simple, all very good and, as promised... More
