While in Prague we had to try some Czech food. Our tour guide suggested this place. Inside and outside dining. Special menus every day. I had the beef goulash with dumplings and pancakes. We were instructed not to just order a side of dumplings. "You must eat them with the meat and gravy... read more

Good beer and authentic Czech cuisine with a strong dumpling theme. Be warned Czech dumplings are unlike the light fluffy offerings that compliment a typical English stew and more like part solidified savoury wall paper paste! Not unpleasant, just very heavy and I defy anyone to finish the massive serving of mixed dumplings that appears with most dishes. However, when... More

Goof midrange Czech restaurant. Good value for the type of food. Service very good. Good selection of traditional Czech foods. It was a good choice for our first night in Prague.

Went to Imperial Rest but was full. Asked a coupe of Czechs for an alternative and was advised here. Sat outside with view over bustling market square. Awesome local food and very friendly service

Very good local place. Lot's of local people, at least 80%. Very good service, even the place was full. We were noticed all the time and service was still very personal. Food was good, even very tasty and the same time quite heavy local food. Price vs quality excellent.

Within an hour of reaching our hotel, we were seated in here for a drink and a snack. I tried Kozel for the first time - absolutely delicious. On our way out, we booked for the evening. In the evening, I was surprised at how busy the place was, not just upstairs but in the huge basement. However, service was... More

This restaurant is near the Marriott, so the first time we ate there it was for convenience. We liked the food, but the restaurant was packed and it was quite loud in the basement which is where we were seated. There were a lot of large tables and there was a lot of beer drinking going on. The second time... More

Great service, good beer, tasty traditional Czech food. We truly enjoyed dinner here. This is a good place to try traditional food. Avoid Hybernia, which is another area restaurant, and have a much better evening here!

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
