Best Mexican in Prague

I have been eating at this restaurant for over 7 years now. Everyone I am back in Prague I make it my mission to eat here. Food is fantastic and well priced. It's always full so you need to book at least 2 days in advance. This popularity says enough about the restaurant. Thumbs up from me all... read more

The food was delicious, cocktails were well prepared and very tasty, staff friendly and helpful. Better to make a reservation in advance.

Visited this restaurant with my daughter in January, it was quite a walk from our hotel and it was very cold outside but it was well worth the walk, the staff were lovely and very friendly, we had booked a table as it advised us to in the guide book and it was very busy. The food was amazing and... More

I've always been a fan of the Cantina. I first lived in Prague in 2002 and starting going to Cantina shortly after that. Since then, I've been coming and going to Prague on a consistent basis and now, I'm back living in Prague and I'm still going to Cantina whenever I get the chance. I've never been disappointed with the... More

The restaurant is decorated very nicely, the food is tasty - please note the portions are very big so there is really no need to order a starter, we have two vegetarians in the family and it was very easy to find something for them in the manu to eat.

Popped in here as we walked past looking for sunday night dinner and the reviews here got us to try it out. Was only 6:15 and we were given a table for a quick hour as everything was booked, generally a good sign. Had great nachos which came fast but not before our cocktails which were good (not the best,... More

I was so excited to find a cantina abroad! It is inevitably one of the harder things to find. Chips and salsa was good, salsa was very fresh. Ordered two entrees: Quesadilla de Res and beef tacos. Quesadilla was the better of the two but was very heavy jalepeno. Beef was tender, with a neutral marinade. Environment was comfortable and... More

This restaurant was a quick fix after a buggered up reservation elsewhere and we loved it. The food was wonderful, the place has very nice atmosphere, very clean and cheerful loos (well - it's important!) - we enjoyed it very, very much. It is a pricey place, but the food was so plentiful we could easily have ordered a lot... More

We were staying in Prague just for a weekend and we knew exactly what we were craving - good mexican food. We've been living in Italy for some time now and unfortunately haven't found a decent mexican restaurant yet. So we went to Cantina the first night for drinks and chips with salsa. Strawberry margaritas were good, salsa is spicy... More

We visited this restaurant on our last day in Prague. Great food, good service and very reasonable prices. Would highly recommend if you like Mexican food.

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
