We had a very nice experience in this restaurant. The waiter was very obliging and made a table available to us although every table in the house was reserved & we had no reservation made. I thought he did it very graciously too which impressed me. Myself & my husband both ordered 'Chicken Fajitas. As we both love Mexican food,... More

Great Mexican restaurant situated in the very center of Prague. All served dishes were amazing! Service was fast and professional. The only minus is that there is not much space between the tables, which makes the restaurant a bit too cosy. Important information: you should make the reservation few days in advance in order to get the table!

Having had a not so great Mexican meal in another restaurant in Prague we tried this out and it didn't disappoint! Huge portions, well priced and cocktails were good too! Booking is a must though, as we've tried and failed a few times to get a table without a reservation!

This place is simply great. One of the finest Burritos I have tasted, the staff were brilliant and the food was amazing. Make sure you ring in advance because they are busy, but well worth the visit.

My friends and I found this place by accident and we decided to give it a shot. It was a very wise desicion. The food was SPLENDID and we enjoyed every bite. It was the best meal we've had in Prague. I really recommend eating in this place, the meals are great and also the price is fair and fine.... More

Every time we visit Prague, we enjoy a wonderful meal here. The menu is varied, the portions generous, and the prepared food is fresh and delicious. The decor is amusing as the translation of "Southwest" and Mexico are a bit skewed. Be aware restaurant is not large, so almost always busy (the fact that many diners around you speak Czech... More

My husband and I made a visit to Cantina following the many good reviews and an appetite for Mexican one afternoon. Food was average, nothing amazing, just standard Mexican, no fresh guacamole / tinned received beans etc. If you fancy Mexican food and are hungry go for it but if you were looking for a good standard and dining experience... Brilliant! We were visiting Prague from London and we both still lee talking about how good the food was - and the cocktails. Just wish we lived nearer so we could go again! Try the chilli - it's amazing.

This is our second visit to Prague. On our first back in 2008,after a conversation with a fellow passenger the "Cantina" was mentioned as a place to eat. It didn't disappoint then, and it doesn't disappoint now. Truly great food in an authentic atmosphere. If it is possible book in advance, you will not be disappointed.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
