After some bad meals - too many mixed grills - this was a real treat. The food and ambiance were both excellent. The only negative was the desserts were not on par with the rest of the meal.

We had the pleasure of eating at this very beautiful restaurant. Our concierge did not think we needed reservations on a tuesday so off we went. We were sat in a room all by ourselves. When we asked if we could move to a table with other diners we were told no. There were tables but..... If I was dining... More

We recently had a most enjoyable dinner at U Modre Kachnicky in the Mala Strana area of Praha. It was recommended to us by our tour guide and the manager at our hotel ( the Archibald at the Charles Bridge) very kindly reserved a table for us and gave us directions to the restaurant. It is in a beautiful two... More

I'm not often wowed by a meal, but last night's dinner at the Little Blue Duck was a wow. It's rustic food, so if you are looking for from from go elsewhere, but if you want to feel as if you have stumbled back in time to a Bohemian restaurant of yesteryear and served one of the great rustic dinners... If you're looking for classic Czech food with a very quaint, personal atmosphere then look no further. Quite frankly, I have not had a meal as good the one we had at The Little Blue Duck in quite some time. The duck prepared in the plum brandy sauce was impeccable and one of their many Czech desserts are worth a... More

We chose the ready made menu, which was probably a mistake. I had fish, despite not recommended to do so in Prague. The food was OK, but not quite worth the extra price. The staff was very friendly and my lactose intolerance was taken into consideration and the menu modified accordingly.

We were celebrating our 20 anniversary in this restaurant. Service was very helpfull and professional. Especially piano player played so brilliantly and after we had danced english walz as thanks to him, he started play three finnish songs (which are really rare to hear in central europe). Then it was my turn play fanfare to him with restaurants old trumpet... More

My son loves duck. We were on the train from Berlin googling Prague restaurants and U Modre Kachnicky came up. Though why not take a chance, first because the name is so typically Czech and second because the menu looked so middle european, and when in Rome… errr Prague… My son and I both had a lovely meal. The restaurant... More

Stumbled upon this restaurant also known as the blue duckling and decided to try the 9 course tasting menu, luckily we booked a table as by 8pm it was completely full and people were being turned away. The restaurant was very kooky and we were sat in a booth near the door surrounded by ornaments of ducks, 70s style lampshades... More

Down a quiet side street this 300 year old inn serves proper Czech cuisine - the pork with cracking dumplings and caramelized sprouts (yes sprouts outside Xmas!!) was superb and the wine the waiter selected was lovely. My wife's duck was "the best she had tasted". The ambiance is perfect with space between tables, some would say the decoration is... More
