Lovely restaurant in a hidden cobbled street opposite the Mandarin. Rustic food (main dish feeds you up). Warm and cosy old-fashioned design, old-style service and a piano player at first floor made a wonderful romantic evening. Always again.

Czech food in a lovely setting. Duck duck and more duck on the menu. Of course, soups, other meats and are available too. Wonderful staff and great food.

My wife and I enjoyed an outstanding dinner in this restaurant recently. The game pate and saddle of fallow deer starters were excellent. The roast pheasant was beautifully cooked and served with an outstanding dark beer and plum sauce. The raspberry gratin with mascarpone cheese was a real treat. The recommended Czech merlot was a good choice with our meal.... More

My boyfriend and I ended up eating here for dinner last minute after a change of plan and boy we were not disappointed. I am a self confessed duck lover so for me this place was always going to be a winner, but even my boyfriend thought it was excellent. My tip is to go for any of the top... More

We visited u modre on our first night in Prague, excited about trying some hearty local food to help us brave the eastern European nights, we were not disappointed! They specialize in traditional duck based dishes, I cannot recommend these enough! I had the duck with plum and apple brandy, served with Czech mash potato and cored roasted appled. It... More

Beautiful setting, excellent service , fantastic food and dessert ..good wines..it was a really nice experience ..Traditional Prague food which is what we wanted to taste.. romantic . The location was great , in the middle of the shops but the building itself was so pretty, old world décor.

Wife and I went for dinner and loved it. The duck...oh the duck! I generally don't like it but boy was the roast duck breast appetizer delicious. I had the filet mignon as my entrée and could easily compare it to the best French restaurants in the states. The sauce was a more flavorful cousin of bearnaise. My wife ordered... More

The food is of a really good quality and like in general in Prague the service was also really good. Perfect for a romantic dinner. I recommend the degustation menu.

Apparently there are two banches of this restaurant. We ate at the Mala Strahna location. This is in a very old building on a quiet lane off the main street. Inside is a very charming, very old building decorated an intersting collection. The place has a very old world feeling. Traditional menue and traditional way of serving. The roast duck... More

2nd visit and after more than 10 years, still the same as we remembered it! Fantastic authentic Czech cuisine in a lovely part of Prague. The duck, cabbage and dumplings to die for. Definitely not low cal but a tremendous experience.
