U Modre Kachnicky have two restaurants in Prague, this one in "The Lesser Town". For starter I choose Wild game pâté with bacon, cranberries and baby gherkin. This one tasted very good. For main course Flambéed duck breast spiked with dried apricots, red wine and green pepper sauce and almond potato croquettes. Even the duck is the house speciality, this... More

during our 4 days stay in Prague , we tried to find an original Czech restaurant with traditional recipes and tastes . U modre kachnicky was the answer ! Appetizers were excellent ( Warm goat cheese with saffron sauce is highly recommended ). Main dishes offer a variety of combinations of duck and deer recipes always consistent with the Czech... Lovely restaurant in a hidden cobbled street opposite the Mandarin. Rustic food (main dish feeds you up). Warm and cosy old-fashioned design, old-style service and a piano player at first floor made a wonderful romantic evening. Always again.

Czech food in a lovely setting. Duck duck and more duck on the menu. Of course, soups, other meats and are available too. Wonderful staff and great food.

My wife and I enjoyed an outstanding dinner in this restaurant recently. The game pate and saddle of fallow deer starters were excellent. The roast pheasant was beautifully cooked and served with an outstanding dark beer and plum sauce. The raspberry gratin with mascarpone cheese was a real treat. The recommended Czech merlot was a good choice with our meal.... More

My boyfriend and I ended up eating here for dinner last minute after a change of plan and boy we were not disappointed. I am a self confessed duck lover so for me this place was always going to be a winner, but even my boyfriend thought it was excellent. My tip is to go for any of the top... More

We visited u modre on our first night in Prague, excited about trying some hearty local food to help us brave the eastern European nights, we were not disappointed! They specialize in traditional duck based dishes, I cannot recommend these enough! I had the duck with plum and apple brandy, served with Czech mash potato and cored roasted appled. It... More

Wife and I went for dinner and loved it. The duck...oh the duck! I generally don't like it but boy was the roast duck breast appetizer delicious. I had the filet mignon as my entrée and could easily compare it to the best French restaurants in the states. The sauce was a more flavorful cousin of bearnaise. My wife ordered... More
