A great little restaurant. Very homey atmosphere, great service. We had asked our concierge about "traditional czeck" food and he recommended this restaurant - and we couldn't have been happier. There was a group of us and we sampled almost everything on the menu - duck, wild boar, venison, etc. All was

After reading about 'the blue duckling' in our guide book we decided this sounded like the perfect place to eat....well we were sadly mistaken and so disappointed especially since it was our last night in Prague. The atmosphere was far from romantic when we first walked in. We were led upstairs to an area that had no ambience at all!... More

Had been recommended this restaurant by our hotel and did not fail to impress. If you are looking for something a little up-market with great atmosphere, quality food, good wine and top notch service, this place is well worth a visit - just remember to book in advance! Definitely one for couples and if you can, try to book the... More

My husband and I had a delicious dinner with our 13-year old daughter last night. My husband had the duck, I had boar, and our daughter had a vegetarian dish. Very nice meal, loved our wine. Great desserts, too.

This is a truly special place which in my opinion deserves a higher rating. In a quiet area of Mala Strana this is a small, intimate restaurant (booking advised) with a beautiful old-fashioned interior, stuffed with lovely furniture and ornaments. It's a bit of a Prague tradition having been visited by many celebrities. The food is single-mindedly focussed on traditional... More

This restaurant is situated adjacent to the Mandarin, and is worth a visit for its atmosphere, service, food, and ambience. It was a bit like stepping back in time.......we visited on a very cold January evening and entered through a red curtain which is placed behind the door - very theatrical. The small space inside was cosy and warm, lit... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
