Food truly excellent, service the star.

The restaurant has an incredible decor with beautiful antiques arranged in small rooms with a lovely atmosphere of a stage set. The waitress helped us and guided us to wonderful red wine with an equally lovely low price. The food was marvelous. There was a pianist on the first floor which lent to... read more

Again, I am stingy with five-star ratings, but this one deserves it. Hard to find, but the service and food choices are all top rated. We were 8 singers on tour and all ordered different dishes, most of them duck. We agreed it was the best meal we had in Prague and we would all go again were we to... More

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel where we stayed and we liked it so much the first time that we ate there again. The first time we ate there my husband and I shared the Wild Game Plate for two, and it was magnificent. We shared a wonderful bottle of red wine and a bottle of bottled water. The... More

We thoroughly enjoyed this traditional Czech dining experience. The atmosphere was very traditional and cozy, and we really enjoyed the piano player. Our appetizer was great, and the different breads very tasty. We loved the duck, it was very tender and the sides complimented it nicely. The service was very professional. Definitely recommended for a traditional Czech meal!

Went for dinner with my wife because it was very near our hotel, and had good reviews as looked interesting when I walked by. I thought my duck appetizer was terrific, but everything went downhill from there. We split a mixed meat platter. There was plenty of food, but none that great. The waiters were reasonably friendly, but when I... More

This is a small restaurant, looks closed in first inspection, without any outside seating but when you get inside, there is a warm ambiance with a very detailed decoration. The service here is exceptional, not like the touristic places you will visit in Prague, though the prices are higher accordingly. The place is experienced in roast duck, they also have... More

This is an old restaurant, kept in it's original decoration but in an excellent condition. Great local food and friendly and professional service. Slightly more expensive than the usual torist restaurants, but very well worth the money. Higly recommended.

This restaurant, which may feel a little touristy, is a great Czech dining experience. All of our meals were delicious (I especially loved the potato pancake and the bread before the meal!) and the waitstaff was great and very attentive. We had some amazing, albeit expensive wine, but it was worth it. The piano player was a great accompaniment to... More

This is my first time reviewing on this site but I felt I should on this occasion. This restaurant is overrated and overpriced for the quality you get. My partner and I opted for 2 different tasting menus. There was nothing beyond average about any of my 6 courses; indeed the duck, the speciality, was very overcooked. My partner did... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
