Excellent spot for a coffee break in Kampa Island

We stopped here for a coffee break while hanging around in Kampa Island. The coffee was really good and the place is very cozy.

Sitting here for 25 minutes and still no one has taken our food order. The restaurant is not busy so I have no idea what the staff are doing. Will not be returning. The view is fabulous pity about the service.

With stunning views over Charles Bridge, this is a very beautifully located restaurant for a special evening .. Or just for dinner anytime! In summer you can sit outside. Angela, our waitress was very attentive and really good fun - and she knew her wines. There were even some fireworks over the bridge!!

On special nights or for private parties we organize our own fireworks. Not sure if these were ours, though :-). In any case, happy to read you had a pleasant time and we pass the complients to Angela. More

This place was a fantastic part of my trip thanks to the service. Indeed, Aneta has a very good sense of customer care, she is very smart and kind that I could ask all I need about Praha. I was also a little bit sick, and she succeeds in finding some medicine for me. Definitely, the place to be !

We went to Hergetova in early January and had a great evening. The restaurant was relatively quiet due to the season which meant we were served and looked after all night. We booked in advance and were given the best table in the restaurant overlooking Charles Bridge. The staff went above and beyond to give recommendations and were very friendly.... More

Really disappointed at this restaurant. We arrived as a large group of 10 and found the restaurant virtually empty with no atmosphere at all. It's a shame as it clearly must be busy sometime as it's unusually large, the view over the river is beautiful but sadly the service really lets it down. We were served by a waiter who... More

Dear traveller, thank you for your visit and for taking the time to review us. While passing over some of your highly subjective comments, we just like to put things a bit into prospective. You ate at our restaurant second Sunday after the New Year, which is one of the slowest weekends ever. It is mid-January, so sitting by the... More

We celebrated NYE at Hergetova Cihelna. There had been a choice of restaurant or buffet dining but we booked too late for the restaurant. However, as we arrived early we had the choice of tables and chose one with a small window that looked out onto the Vlatava River and Charles Bridge - very romantic. Despite catering for around 90... Our family of 6 enjoyed the buffet, especially the salmon, New Year's Eve. Wine and bottled water was frequently replenished and our plates frequently cleared as our waiter was attentive, friendly, and available as needed. The buffet offered enough variety to satisfy kids 14-22 and parents, too. We didn't expect to enjoy the dancing, but we took to the dance... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
