Very nice

Lovely spot on the river to while away a few hours, we ate in the cafe and had hamburgers. Definitely a treat.

Booked this restaurant after finding it on the internet and was not disappointed. Due to the weather, we were unable to sit outside but the interior was lovely and we didn't feel as though we missed out. Menu looked fab and we ordered the chicken Caesar salad / tomato & mozzarella for starters and then both had the fillet steak... More

After a weeklong series of work related meetings at the Hilton Prague, my colleagues and I were afforded one night out on the town. Hergetova Cihelna was recommended to us by the meeting planners, and we arranged for a reservation. As we were cooped up in the hotel all week long, we were anxious to be outside, so we requested... Really great food, excellent view. The staff was nice, and accommodating (I'm allergic). The first hand view over the river was absolutely breathtaking. It was kinda expensive for my everyday budget but it was worth every penny. Very romantic.

We visited the riverside cafe and the view of the Charles bridge was great. However, our waiter was quite rude and it almost seemed like he did not want people to come in. He was almost dissuading people from sitting there and kept warning people how we would have to leave right away if it rained. He turned two ladies... More

Hergetova Cihelna has a well deserved reputation and even the overcast skies could not detract from the fact that this is a classy restaurant. From the hostess greeting at the door to the informed and obliging waiting staff this was high quality service by any standards. Some reviews alluded to it being overpriced...well,at approx £35 a head for pre dinner drinks, wine and... we had cocktails at the outdoor cafe first night in PRAGUE, we returned to the outdoor restaurant later in the week and we had a lovely meal with a very special view. Good food and terrific service. Perfect view of the Chares Bridge especially at night.

Great view but the food was average. My medium rare steak was medium and tough, wine list is not great for their prices...paying for the view. Lots of smokers outside made the experience less than ideal but that's what you will get in most of Europe. My girlfriend'duck was also average versus other places we visited in Prague.

Dear SailfastSF, thanks for your review! We are happy you enjoyed the view. We are sorry the smokers outside spoiled your view, we see allowing smoking on the terrace and nowhere else as the best solution to accommodate all our guests, smokers and non-smokers alike. We always go out of our way to offer food of excellent quality and taste,... More

A nice restaurant, elegant and romantic. It's just close to the Bridge (Charles bridge or Mission Impossible's bridge....). Yet it's expensive and for me less attractive because it presents a mix of different cuisines so not really traditional, but as written before you come here for the position....

Dear francemer, thanks for your review! We are glad to hear you liked the view that our restaurant offers. We are sorry if the menu did not meet your expectations, at Hergetova Cihelna we offer a fine dining concept that is rather non-traditional and presents a mixture of styles. We hope that even though you didn't find out menu attractive,... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
