Stumbled across this place whilst walking from the castle to the bridge. Innitially I was put off due to the clouds of cigerette smoke I could see as I opened the door, but as the Mrs is in charge I went on in and we were immediatly greeted by one of the bar chaps. He pointed for us to sit... More

This small joint is famous for beer and location. Just a few steps away from Prague Castle and Brittish Embassy you can order a beer a drink it while standing, because the tables are already full. Unless you came early. The beer... oh my god, you order one and suddenly you are having fourth in a row! How could this... More

This is a great little city centre, basic, old-fashioned, boozy, locals, type pub, not set up for tourists or for smart food or posing or messing about in. As being British we (wife, 18 yr old son + self) loved it. Got beers from the bar using as much Czech as I could, which raised a smile, not least from... More

Small but usually crowded place. Prices are average, choice of food is not very wide, but food is really tasty. I believe that this place is preferably for locals, and staff don't like tourists very much, but if you want to try local bar - it's the best choice

Well it was an experience. We were staying round the corner so this was our local. It really is a small local pub. We went in at lunchtime and the place was crowded and there was nowhere to sit - and we tried to order a couple of coffees. The waitress who didn't smile all the time we were there... More

We were recommended this place by some friends as something local and off the beaten path. I am still wondering what they found in the establishment... First of all, the waiter, bartender and the cook eyed us rather unfriendly from the very moment we went in - even though at that point we were cheerful and optimistic. They probably don't... More

If you visit the castle or happen to be in the area this unpretentious restaurant is great for a simple meal with no frills but excellent beer. The menu is not varied and the place is small but is obviously frequented by locals. It is inexpensive and well worth a visit.

This is all about the beers :) After you've walked around the embassy area go here to sit down (if there's space) and get a couple of pints. It's easy to miss but get directions to the Britsh embassy and it's right next to. You don't have to talk to the staff, just nod and a beer will come :)... More

This dispels that myth. Really tasty goulash and dumplings. Incredible chocolate pud. Friendly service. Don't be deceived by the location, very close to Charles Bridge it's not a tourist trap.

Hard to find? Yes. Worth the look? HELLS YEAH!! Simple rustic Czech cuisine. Wholesome, super cheap and friendly. Didn't speak an work of Chech - didn't need to!! The locals eat there, so you know it must be good - otherwise the locals wouldn't go there. My wife and I had a real Chech experience and we LOVED it!!! I... More
