Every trip to Prague we've been on over the many year's of visiting this wonderful city ,we alway's pay this pub a visit as it is still one of the best most traditional unspoilt pub's in the city. On our last visit we were here on a Saturday night and this pub was as it alway's is very very busy.... More

This is a must when climbing up the castle hill. The beer is always at its best and the service is stiff but fast. A reminiscent of the good old days of Praque.

If you dare to go in through the unmarked door , you will find yourself in a noisy, smoky, and gererally wonderful 'real' Prague pub. Great beer , good simple food, and enough character to make you glad you dared!

Another great Pilsner Urquelle pub is U Hrocha, small and cosy beer pub on Mala Strana (under the Prague Castle) and close to Charles Bridge, so you can easily make a little stop on your walk there. The pub opens at 12:00 until approx. 15:00 is no problem to get a place, after it’s a bit tricky, but not almost... More

Just had the one beer here. Nothing of note. Service was poor too. It was in the guidebook. You win some. You lose some. I would go to U Kocoura just up the road instead. It suited me better.

When we visited Prague a work colleague of mine showed us around and made a particular point of taking us here. The Urquell PIls severed here is like nectar of the gods! My pal said that the chap who served us had been there since he was a kid and really know what he was doing. Can get very busy,... More

GREAT cheap food. Get the sausage!!!!!! I felt like this restaurant was off the beaten path and wouldn't have noticed it, except a friend who lived in Prague tipped me off to it. It's small, but a great place! I almost don't want to post on here about it as I'm afraid if it gets too popular it may lose... More

Are you looking for a great beer, good apetizers and pub atmosphere? This is the right place to go. The beer is nice, but there even places with better Pilsner beer, altough it is told that here is the best Pilsner in Prague.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
