very fun place

fun beer hall serving Budvar and rudimentary Czech food in the shadow of the castle. Small, loaded with locals. While we were in there, the klezmer band that plays in front of the castle walked in to spend some of their buskering money. Intimate, traditional, fun. Put it on your list.

I learned of this place via a Rick Steve's blog and decided to track it down. While not difficult to find, it is not on a normal tourist route. The atmosphere is quaint for a small pub-like restaurant. The menu is limited and written on a chalk board. If you are searching for a place the locals go, give it... More

It is hard to catch seat or place for standing . And sometimes waiter says to you : I do not have free glass or go to another pub, I do not have time . = D But atmosphere and beer are incredible!

This is a small pub down the hill from the castle in the Little Quarter. It is really more of a watering hole than a place to eat, although they do serve basic meals. We choose their sausage and mustard selection which was a good choice. Pilsner Urquell is the only beer on tap and for less than $2 you... More

Visited the place for lunch. We ordered a pork steak and grilled pork and it was absolutely fantastic. The beer was also affordable. I am not sure about the previous reviews about the service. The waitress and the manager were friendly to my wife and I even though we are not local. Perhaps it was because the place was not... More

That's all...If you are not local, you're not welcomed. The bartender didn' t even look to us when we asked for a beer and he answered just "no, no, no". A local to avoid

Reading the posts about rude waitres, need to say there is a lot of truth in it. I personally didnt have problems, but saw people to be turned back quite rudly, because there was no space to be seated. If you dont mind to come in very submisive position:-), you will be rewarded by excellent Pilsner beer (one of the... More

I think it's the only pub I know, where you can still smoke. Very particular and not very clean but the beer is cheap as in almost all the taverns of Prague and the food is good and cheap. The tables are shared with other people. The cook smoking while cooking and they didn't have bottle of water ..... But...I... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
