Great small place in a Eastern European Beer tradition. Be aware of the smoking inside. Very many locals, little space, warm and cosy. If your beer is empty you get a new one with almost no notice:) or u pay. We enjoyed our night there...

This is a genuine Czech pub with traditional atmosphere. If you are looking for best beer you can get, no better place than U Hrocha.

This is our classic go-to every visit to Prague. The Pilsner is amazingly fresh and cheap. It's always packed and table sharing is the norm. Just be prepared for second hand smoke. Everyone in the bar smokes but that's part of,what makes this a classic local pub. The beer cheese and herring are typical bar food and the cheese is... More

This bar was suggested by a friend who came here years ago. We found it easy enough. Not very big but as they say, " size doesn't matter!!" What a fantastic bar!! The Pilsner is the best I have tasted in Prague and at about £1 a pint, perfect!! I tried the pickled Camembert and it was lovely. There is more... More

This is one of the few classical Czech pubs located in the heart of Prague. As other reviewers mention, this is a local place where even some members of Parliament go for a beer (Parliament is nearby). It is not a top notch place regarding interier but this is not important for this type of place. It is about beer,... More

I learned of this place via a Rick Steve's blog and decided to track it down. While not difficult to find, it is not on a normal tourist route. The atmosphere is quaint for a small pub-like restaurant. The menu is limited and written on a chalk board. If you are searching for a place the locals go, give it... More

fun beer hall serving Budvar and rudimentary Czech food in the shadow of the castle. Small, loaded with locals. While we were in there, the klezmer band that plays in front of the castle walked in to spend some of their buskering money. Intimate, traditional, fun. Put it on your list.

It is hard to catch seat or place for standing . And sometimes waiter says to you : I do not have free glass or go to another pub, I do not have time . = D But atmosphere and beer are incredible!

This is a small pub down the hill from the castle in the Little Quarter. It is really more of a watering hole than a place to eat, although they do serve basic meals. We choose their sausage and mustard selection which was a good choice. Pilsner Urquell is the only beer on tap and for less than $2 you... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
