We were walking around the clock, and we decided to sit here for a beer. That is until we saw that the price for a small glass of beer was 10 times(!!!) higher than normal. We left of course without ordering anything.

This cafe is located strategically across from the Astronomical Clock. The day we visited was a very cold and wet day. We enjoyed our much needed delicious cup of hot chocolate while watching the events of the Astronomical Clock. October 2011.

Good value for money Great coffee Only thing I had against it is that the toilets are located in the adjoining hotel which you have to pay for

We booked a Christmas day dinner & jazz evening at the Grand Cafe opposite Astronomical Clock, in the old town. 5 courses with live piano, sax & singing. Excellent experience. Booked through Prague Experience website, booking worked perfectly. They get you the best seats so even though we booked at the last minute we still got seats facing by the... More

We attended the Jazz Dinner at the Grand Cafe Praha in Prague in early December 2011. The location is very nice on the second floor of the Grand Hotel on the main square in Old Town Prague. The windows overlook the Astronomical Clock. The cafe serves as the dining room for the Grand Hotel at other times. The atmosphere is... More

When we booked for an expensive dinner and jazz evening we expected a larger restaurant with a lot more atmosphere. In fact there were only 20 people there. The jazz was very disappointing - the lady pianist/singer had her back to the diners and used a microphone that was totally unnecessary for a small room with 20 people. I think... More

We visited the Grand Cafe to experience the Jazz Concert. It was a tad misleading for the Cafe to advertise that this was concert, as there is only two people playing (A pianist with vocals and a saxophonist. The Jazz was so so, however they played all the classics. I guess we were expecting a lot more musicians, so it... More

Extremely elegant. Sit in the cafe on the first floor and enjoy the best view of the old town square and its famous clock. We had coffee and ice cream, perfect. The added value is also the vast collection of turn of the century Meissen statues. An incredible collection displayed in cabinets around the cafe/restaurant. For admirers of beautiful porcelain,...
