Thoroughly entertaining old-fashioned supper club

The food is good, plentiful, and accompanied by Becerovka and a never-ending supply of white and red wines delivered in the most amazing way. What really makes the evening special is the entertainment. These people work their butts off to make sure you have a good time. Audience participation... read more

Located in the Prague suburbs, we ate here as part of a tour group. Good sized dining room with long tables accommodating from 12 to 20 people. Many tour groups also there from various countries and tour companies. Free flowing red and white wines poured from glass blown decanters by the waiter who made frequent rounds. Beer drinkers glasses were... More

We went as part of the AMA Waterways Tour of Prague. This was an optional excursion that we are so glad we did. The place was packed with people from all over the world and made to feel welcome with a hello song from each country represented. As this was happening we were served wine and/or beer both of which... More

We were part of a group which went here and it was a huge place with many tour groups. There was dancing, music, singing and all interactive. Had potato salad as a starter, kebab and veggies and quiche and nonstop drinks. It was a lot of fun. People from many countries were there. They made you feel welcome

One night on our tour of Eastern Europe we were taken to U Marcanu in the suburbs of Prague, the Czech Republic. As far as I could see the entire restaurant was completely filled with tour groups. If my husband and I were on our own it's the last place I would have gone but in all we had a... More

This is a fabulous evening of live entertainment, and traditional Czech music including polkas and mazurka dancing. Catering to large groups , the restaurant does this really well with generous portions and free flowing alcohol. We tried the aperitif , an acquired taste , and served ice cold. Entree was 2 dumplings with cabbage and smoked ham- very tasty. The... More

This restaurant was selected by our tour operator to provide a traditional Czech experience. The food was apparently very traditional but really not very good and I didn't find it particularly well prepared or presented. The wine was very poor quality. The entertainment consisted of traditional singing and dancing and was an interesting experience. What I found disappointing was the... More

What a delightful restaurant! We went with a group and would recommend taking either a taxi or local driver as this would be hard to find, I think, otherwise. Given the many one-way roads, I was glad to be on the bus. It took us about 20-30 minutes from the heart of Prague. Be prepared to settle in for few... More

The meal was great, the bread, the cheese plate and stroganoff, services was surprisingly fast, waiters understood enough English to get us what we wanted. Great potato balls!

U marcanu was recommended to us by someone who was taken here on a bus tour. We had our family of 7 including my 86 yr old father. The rest of the restaurant was indeed a large bus tour. Regardless, it really was a great night of traditional Czech music, singing, dancing, food and alcohol. Watch out for the local... More
