Surprising...in a positive way!

We stopped by this restaurant by chance. Everything in this place is pretty much related to czech tradition. We tried the smoked pork knee and a couple of local beers...terrific! Also great value for money. Absolutely reccomended!

We went for a dinner with my girlfriend in "U Betlémské kaple" restaurant. We chose this restaurant at random. I would say that the first look was not so bad. Nicely shaped wooden chair and banks. All was designed little bit rustical and quite nice. However... We experienced the bad luck of having "the kitchen view" table. We saw there... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant while aimlessly wandering the streets of Prague, just enjoying the city. The place had many locals inside - already a good sign! We had some nice red wine, garlic soup (more of a broth but delicious nonetheless), grilled chicken (it was pretty good but nothing spectacular), and pork knee, which is the Czech specialty worth... We decided to have a traditional goulash and we found this restaurant. The waiter showed us where we had to sit (very close to the door and outside they're cold) Immediately we kindly asked him if it was possible to close the door and his answer was 'NO'. So we ordered the meal (basically goulash and baked potato). After long... More

We decided to give this restaurant a try based on a recommendation. Basic Czech food at reasonable prices. Very few people in the restaurant at around 2000. Service was quick. The Kozel Amber was great. We had chicken and schnitzel and they were OK but nothing exceptional. They bring bread for tourists but not for locals (at 10 crowns each).

We decided to have dinner at Betlemske Kapel on the strength of Trip Advisor reviews. The setting looked good, and the menu attractive. My mistake came when I queried the short-pouring (an old restaurant trick) of my Kosel 500ml draught. The (sole) waiter got the mutters, and this spoiled the rest of the evening. The food was mediocre (not great,... More

Unfortunately I was left feeling a bit underwhelmed with this restaurant. It took more than five minutes for the waiter to even notice I was there and bring a menu. My first choice wasn't available so I settled for another "specialty". It actually tasted quite good but the serving size was pretty small. When I was finished I waited so... More

Probably not the height of cuisine but the Schnitzel and fries was great – and a really big portion too - which went well with the beer. Ate outside and it was a nice experience on a hot July evening.

We have wait during one hour our plate ! Without any client gesture ! Scandalous ! I don't recommend this restaurant, only if you have time to lose ! Even if the meal was quite good but too long to arrive.
