First night meal

Ate in here, our hotel restaurant, on our first night in Prague. Had Czech Sausages to start which where very very tasty and then my wife had Duck and I had Goulash, both very nice and very filling. The local dumplings were also very nice. Reasonably priced and great service and beer.

I met friends here for drinks. Unfortunately as its a river view patrons are prevented from enjoying drinks only, you either order food or you move!! The goulash was good and the schnitzel average. Reasonably priced for the location but I wouldn't fall in to the food trap again.

I was looking for a nice restaurant, and following the Tripadvisor rating I came here - it was great! The waitress was friendly and attentive despite a big tourist group arriving shortly after me. I tried a cheese board - liked the tastes. For main course I chose the duck with cabbage and dumplings, and although I didn't read the... More

The restaurant was conveniently located across from our hotel. It is a lovely restaurant with a pleasant, unique and warm atmosphere. The waitress was a one women show. She took all the orders and served all the meals in the restaurant. She was very pleasant and quite efficient. We had a delicious meal which we enjoyed.

This small restaurant is well located by the bridge an has a nice sunny square ouside. Our gulasch tasted lovely and was very cheap. €20 for three meals with beer/Water. Nice!

Just stopped in for a beer so I can't comment on the food but I loved the atmosphere. It was empty but this kind of setting is what makes Prague so neat.

Popped in for lunch whilst walking around and really enjoyed the respite from the cold outside. When we first went in it was really quiet but almost from nowhere the place filled up. We only had the potato soup served in bread but it was really delicious and good quality rather than fatty or oily, although we had serious food... More

We stayed at the Archibald for 3 days and really enjoyed it, the breakfasts which provided with the room charge were adequate (fair to good). We were tired on our second night from all of the walking and decided to try dinner, we were very pleasantly surprised so much so that we came back for night three for dinner. Among... More

Had been in Prague five years ago and we had been here at least twice because it was cosy and the food was good. For dinner We came back here, but...a delusion. Place full of americans asking for burgers. The traditional czech cuisine wasn't very good, either. It tasted like old and reheated. A delusion coming back here

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
