Excellent Food and Very Attentive Staff

We stayed in the Pod Vezi Hotel and ate in the Pod Vezi restaurant and it was excellent. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. Be sure to visit this restaurant when in Prague.

The menu is a good mix of traditional Czech food with other European influences. It was, without doubt, the best meal we had during our stay in Prague. We would recommend trying the local red wine, it is very good value and excellent quality.

Located almost at the foot of the tower at the western end of the Charles Bridge, attached to the Hotel Pod Vezi you'll find this great restaurant. It offers a good mixture of traditional Czech dishes and other options at reasonable prices. I had the Czech goulash soup in a bread bowl to start which was hearty and filling and... More

Good selection of Czech dishes plus more usual fare. Portions of a good size and superbly cooked. Drinks list lengthy and reasonably priced. We chose to eat here on the two nights we were in Prague. As we were staying in the hotel we had an additional 15% discount which was a bonus! Staff friendly, helpful and attentive.

Having read the reviews on tripadvisor we booked a meal here via the internet - simple to do as you can look at their menu on the website to see if the food is to your choice, and then use their booking page - we got an immediate acknowledgement. We had one of their cocktails as an aperitif (what the... More

In the past week I had dinner at the restaurant, and enjoyed it so much that I ate there again just to confirm that I wasn't imaging how good it was. It was every bit as good as my surprised first impression. The restaurant is adjacent to the Pod Vezi Hotel at the end of the Charles Bridge. Its interior... More

We stayed at the wonderful hotel for 4 nights and ate 'in' for 2 nights. From our perspective we had a better time staying 'at home'. The restaurant offers a good choice and if you do not want traditional Czech fayre then very good alternatives are available. The main seating area is invariably full however we always chose to seek... More

Located at the castle end of the Charles Bridge, this hotel and restaurant could easily be missed. Do so at your peril! One of the best meals in our recent 4 night stay in Prague was at the Pod Vezi. We ate 3 courses with wine and beer for about £40. The wild boar is recommended as is the apple... More

Despite not staying at the Hotel Pod Vezi, we ate here on two of the three nights of our stay in Prague! The restaurant offers a friendly service, with the waiters speaking both excellent English and German (and obviously Czech). The restaurant is situated a stones throw from the Charles Bridge and has a clean, comfortable and warm interior. The... More

If you are staying in Prague, it is worth giving this place a try. The restaurant, which resides in the Hotel Pod Vezi at end of Charles Bridge, is Italian in feel, with arched ceilings and earthy colours, so it is very romantic. However the cuisine is mainly Czech but also offers more international dishes such as pasta and steak... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
