amazing wine list and great tapas with options for vegetarians, the crowd was quite cool. i would have given it 3.5 stars if that was an option, i just didn't think the interior was half as nice as on the website - tables cramped together and more like a shop than a wine bar More

We had a great meal in this restaurant and service was excellent, with good prices. They have quite large selection of local wines, some are really nice. The place looks like some french wine bistro. We had a grilled fish and fillet steak and bothe were great. Close to the Old town square. More

Wine is very affordable per glass and it's a deep pour. Enjoyed the tapas -- especially the serrano ham and the mixed cheese plate. It's minutes between Wencesllaus square and the Old town square. Art work on the wall is very funny. Take off your coat and stay awhile. More

After a long day of sightseeing, this restaurant was right around the corner from our hotel. Wine bar with cold tapas- it was very reasonably priced- we had a cheese and meat tray with our wine. More

There are two Monarch's in Prague. We are talking about the wine bar north of Old Town Square. You can select from numerous wines and they also serve tapas. Popular with the locals. We were based in Prague for 2 months, and this little place became our local because of the wine selections and the great staff. They also know... More

This place was perfectly good, located in the old part of the city and open late (we went after the opera). The fondue, cold meats, olives, all were a welcome relief from the rather uninteresting local Czech dishes --yes, yes, I'm sure some are great! Nice atmosphere too. More

Recommended by our hotel as serving genuine Czech cuisine at a reasonable price and it exceeded our expectations. The service was helpful and friendly and the food superb. We asked for assistance in selecting a bottle of Czech red wine and were given two to test. There was no added service charge but we gladly added 10 per cent and... More

Located in Josefov area and advertised as a wine bar -- extensive wine selection, very good Czech food and friendly + helpful staff. Located on Diouha Street in the midst of many other restaurants - has a brassarie look without the trendy matching prices. Definitely worth seeking out More

Wonderful interior, wonderful service (I was even adressed as "madame" which was a very pleasant shock), wonderful selection of great wine for very reasonable price (50 CZK for a glass). Haven't eaten there but would definitely like to. Felt very welcome being at Monarch and I would like to come back soon! More
