Perfect meal on our last evening in Prague

The food, presentation, service, décor... all were perfect at the Rainer Maria Rilke. I had stumbled upon it on my first evening in Prague and, delighted with the experience, decided I would treat my friend to a meal there on our last evening in Prague. Both times, I found it the most delightful... read more

This was our 3 Czech restaurant and as such the best of the three. This is a little place and better make a reservation. The food was excellent, the waiter (who seems to be the owner) was friendly, smiling and this was the only restaurant where we got a pitcher of free cold water even without asking which he kept refilling!!

A very quaint and unspoilt restaurant slightly off the beaten track. Well worth searching out. Goulash to die for.

Classic Traditional Czech Restaurant. We had an apartment just around the corner and so visited here for our first meal in Prague. Classic solid Czech food in an old fashioned restaurant. A good meal at a reasonable price. You will need to book ahead as its small and quite busy. Good place to eat old school Czech food - Meat... More

The restaurant has roughly 15 tables so it is small with an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. The menu has a wide selection of Czech cuisine with ample portion size. The service was great. Czech food is "heavy" so it will fill you up.

Fantastic Czech food in a wonderful old town restaurant surroundings. Staffing levels are at a minimum so sometimes it seems you have been waiting for ages. But its worth it. just relax, go with the flow and enjoy the gorgeous Czech food put in front of you. If you're in a hurry... go else where. BUT this place is not... More

Very small restaurant. We stopped by and made reservations early before dining that night. Place was full and the waitstaff was very friendly. The food was good but heavy.

We visited R M Rilke based on Trip Advisor recommendations and because it was near to our hotel. We would say the food was just ok and reasonably priced - but nothing special. Although the restaurant was not particularly busy when we visited the service was slow and the place lacked any real atmosphere. There is a fantastic choice of... More

We recently dined here, our last night in Prague. The menu had many attractive options, making choice difficult. I ended up with a delicious salad, followed by a plate combining slices of sirloin and grilled sausage in a very delicious sauce. Wine was so-so, but service and atmosphere were excellent. Great value for the price, and both quality and quantity... More

Quiet, small restaurant, Attentive service and high quality food at a reasonable price. Far better than all the ones I,ve tried in and around the old town, but very close to the centre, so easy to walk to. Was so impressed went the following evening but, unfortunately, it was fully booked. Probably advisable to book as clearly popular.

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
