Old-school Bohemian restaurant

We were looking for traditional Bohemian cuisine and got just what we wanted. Another pleasant surprise was the very friendly and attentive waiter (so prior warnings about grumpy and slow service in Prague proved to be unfounded). We had goulash and duck with a selection of dumplings - excellent. My hardcore vegetarian son was served gnocchi, also making him happy.... More

Had and reservation here, because of the rating at tripadvisor. It is A Nice restaurant, but maybe not for the food. The service was good, and the waiter ask how the beef should be cooked. Got soup of the Day, for A start, but it tasted like A buyed soup gulasch, it did not tasted like homemade. We were 3... More

We only went the first time because it was close to our hotel. We had a delightful meal. We were waited on, pampered and taken such good care of. The food was excellent and priced very reasonable. We liked it so much, we went back two days later so we could experience more of the menu. The nuance was perfect,... More

Great Czech food at very reasonable prices. The atmosphere and service were outstanding as well. Don't miss the duck "like Grandma used to make"!

I would not have walked in this place, or went out of my way to get here, if not for the reviews, but glad I did. It was one of the most pleasant, and delicious, meals we had in Prague. Service, food, decor all excellent. Be sure to try Grandma's duck, and the "switchcovar" probably spelling that wrong, but it... More

This place was very good as it's previous rates show. However recently they increased the prices!!! In some cases more than 50%. The food is still good, but one can feel they are taking advatage of their recognition. Now there are many other places with lower price and more affordable. Pity that the fame made them so greedy.

Ate here with two friends in the end of July. The restaurant is small and cosy, has an interesting decor, and very attentative and friendly personnel. I had my best meal of the entire trip here, a grilled goat cheese starter. Delicious and at a good price!

This restaurant (named after a Bohemian novelist and poet) was next door to our hotel and when we looked in the window it looked so cosy and welcoming we couldn't resist trying it. It specialises in local cuisine - so think dumplings with everything - but there was a wide selection of starters and main courses to choose from and... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
