Really good food and a lot of vegan-friendly choices. The whole place has a great atmosphere and is decorated in a beautiful way. There's a surprisingly big selection of cool teas, which come in an huge 0.5l servings and are really good.

You don't have to be a vegetarian or vegan to enjoy the excellent work that is done at Maitrea. Seeking a break from some heavier Czech food, I had a delightful meal downstairs. I started with the spinach and cheese crepes, which were very good by themselves but were elevated with the tomato sauce that was provided with them. For... More

I am not a vegitarian, but this restaurant was fabulous. The food was great. The only downside was that the temperature in the restaurant was really hot. But when I made remark they opened the door to let some cool air in.

I was in Europe for 3 weeks & I have to say this was one of the best meals I had! I'm not a vegetarian, but do love vegetables & like to eat healthy, so after eating traditional German, Austrian & Czech food, this was a treat! I went back to eat for a second night in a row &... More

Totally overrated. Maybe due to the fancy interior. Sadly, food has very low nutritional/health value and misses the point of a vegetarian kitchen. You get a lot of 'chicken', 'shrimp' and meat subsitutes in the menu. Also a lot of simple Mexican fast food, like nachos, tortillas and so on. I had the tortilla which was a hard shell of... More

This restaurant provides a great vegetarian alternative. The location is great just behjnd Tyn church in the center of town. The food was wonderful and imaginative. We liked especially the spinache crepes, and the czhek specialty that includes soya 'meat' in a rich creamy sauce with bread dumplings and blueberries and whiped cream (the combination is odd but the taste... First of all, my husband and I are not vegetarians. We are also not stupid, either. We like good food. We like convenience. We like good value. All of the above apply to this place. We ate here twice in four days, simply because the food was so good. The first time was for dinner our first night in Prague.... More

The atmosphere is fantastic, the restaurant is refined in every little detail. The service is very fast even in a busy night and the food is spectacular. It appeals both to vegetarians and to meat eaters, who do not miss meat one bit. The menu is rich and every dish I tried is particular in its own way. Very very... More

Well worth a visit. We ate dinner here twice in the space of three days. Conveniently located, atmospheric, and with an pretty extensive menu at a good price. Over the two days we sampled the Goulash (a bit salty), Tex Mex Enchillada and Feta Enchillada (both excellent), and the Thai Curry (also excellent). The Desserts deserve a special mention too... As a non-vegetarian, i was pleasantly surprised at the delicious food....and the lime pie is AMAZING!!! Great restaurant with beautiful decor. Did not like the seating arrangement though, we were a party of 3, & seated right next to a table of 3....so no privacy and difficult to have a conversation with the next table right on our laps.
