We found the restaurant on trip advisor and went to have a look, it was lovely inside and we were able to pre book and pick our own table. We chose downstairs as it was more private. There were loads of options on the menu it was difficult to choose. We had a feast of a sharing starter, main course... More

The 2 of us popped in about 1pm on a Saturday without reservations and were seated immediately. I didn't see any spare tables but I didn't see all the seating areas and they seemed pretty full. We were taken to a back room (no windows but nice water feature) and seated at a table right next to another (about 10cm... More

Stopped by for dinner hoping to get a table. At the front desk they said they were full upstairs but if we went downstairs we could probably get a table. As we were headed down the stairs, another couple came in and we heard them being told to ask downstairs as well. When we got downstairs we asked for a... More

Did research before going to Prague - to seek out vegetarian restaurants. Food (thai aubergine curry) and drink (ginger lemonade) was absolutely delicious and at 8.30 on a Monday night i got the absolutely last table, so it's busy! Definitely worth seeking out

We ate lunch and dinner at Maitrea during our stay in Prague. As a meat eater, I was more than satisfied with their substitutions...the Kung Pao chicken was delicious.

The food was very good, I had the Tex Mex quesadilla, and would definitely recommend it. The portion size was very large, we had ordered a starter (which was delicious as well) but that would not have been neccesary. Staff was very friendly, atmosphere was cosy.

I've been here a few times, and I was never disappointed. I've even brought meat-loving friends over and they admitted they didn't know vegetarian food could be this good!

I had two dinners at Maitrea and both were just great. This restaurant offers vegetarian food. There are some dishes that 'fake' some non-vegetarian food and they taste great. I am definitely not a vegetarian but I enjoyed it very much. If I lived in Prague I think I could become a vegetarian only because of this restaurant :). Everything... More

We heard good things about this place so used the trusty map to find it and weren't disappointed. Lovely setting with gorgeous food. We had the cold starter to share (we got there at 10pm and the kitchen has closed so we're only serving starters and desserts) but it was more than enough to fill us up! Couldn't recommend this... Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
