My wife and I ate there 8th July. We had a fantastic time. Guy playing the accordion kept everyone happy. Food and service was faultless - my wife being a vegetarian was happy with her options. Anyone who says this place is expensive must be right tightwads, 2 starters, 2 mains, bottle of wine, beer and coffee and a bill... More

Good restaurant in an impressive setting in an impressive building. As there are other restaurants in the same building its direction signage coud be better. Food was good and typically Czeck with very large portions at good prices. Staff were helpful and friendly and the accordianist added to the authentic atmosphere. Overall a delightfull experience even if a bit touristy.

The restaurant is very touristy and overpriced. The menu is in eight different languages. The food was very good. The salmon and creamy mashed potatoes was delicious! It took us 25 minutes to get our check after we asked for it, so that was annoying.

What a weird place this is. It's beneath the Municipal House in a tiled room that makes you think you're in some kind of underground swimming pool. It has no natural light or air supply and is vast. Be prepared for huge tables full of coach groups and appallingly lack lustre "folklore" entertainment half heartedly going on in the background.... More

This restaurant is hidden in the basement of the Municipal building but its worth the search. The name of the place is Obecní dům, Plzeňská restaurace, google it and you will find it. the beef tartar is different than any ive ever had. my husband couldnt stop eating it. the meat was fresh and you could prepare it yourself adding... The restaurant is somewhat difficult to find as it is in the basement of the building and there are two other restaurants on the street level.Once inside it is beautifully decorated and there is a good choice of traditional food at reasonable prices. Food ordered and service were good with friendly staff. Recommend it

This was our favored place to go and have a beer and real good Czech food, like head cheese with vinegar and onions. So we went again. The beer is the same but the quality of food is sub-par, almost horrible. The chef has been experimenting and the outcome is horrible. Czechs do not like jalapeno peppers with their headcheese... We approached the Plzenska beacuse we wanted to admire the beautiful Art Nouveau decorations, but we didn't want to have a large meal because it was 4 pm and we were not that hungry. So we ordered two soup and Staropopovicky beer (Czech good dark one). The waiter seemed surprised of our choice. The soup was in deed a good... More

in a wonderful basement of the Municipal House. Large open layout like a beer hall and decorated art nouveau. The food was ok and the live music was a nice added touch.
