Taking Czech Cuisine to New Heights

Let's be honest - Czech cuisine at its heart is not the most sophisticated or refined compared to say French cooking. It is simple, delicious, rustic cooking. La Degustation is bold effort to change all pre-conceptions. Based on old Czech recipes, the chef here is re-inteprating Czech dishes in a... read more

After studying the form guide for eateries around continental Europe, La Boheme certainly attracted our attention. Booked 4 months in advance, and we were not disappointed when we got there. Fine ambience with matching clientele, so dress "up" as it feels good!! 11-course degustation menu was innovative and turned out to be a gastronomic trip into outer space. All this... More

What a place for a special evening out in Prague. We enjoyed an 11 course meal that was just divine. The experience was well worth the expense. We just enjoyed every last course and the attention to detail and the level of service. The plates were works of art. The food inventive and surprising. It was simply amazing and something... More

We just finished a three and a half hour dining experience at La Degustation. Worth every last penny. Ask for a table by the open kitchen if you can. Just outstanding.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining at La Degustation. The chef creatively plays with the visual effects while presenting beautiful flavors. Every plate was both fun to look at and to taste!

I was living in the Prague for seven months and enjoying the dining experience throughout. I had friends visiting and we took an evening to dine at La Degustation. Truly the best restaurant in Prague. From the delicious, well prepared menu, to the ambience and service, La Degustation is a must. I posted some photos from the experience in my... More

We expecially sought out this restaurant to save us from the touristy menus of Pork Knuckle and Goulash on offer in most of Pragues eateries, but came away a little disappointed with our experience. The amuse bouche was quite exciting and amusing wiith delights such as roasted rabbit ear however the set menu was lacking in wow. The only dish... More

We visited Le Degustation with our children (ages 7 and 10) and it was an amazing experience for everyone, the waitstaff welcomed the children and adjusted the menu for them (3 tastings instead of 6, with a juice pairing!), and I really appreciated the use of local ingredients and Czech wines. The Czech people should be proud of their creative... More

Loved everything about our dining experience here. Service was excellent throughout. We created our own 9 course menu, a cross between the 6 and 11 course menus. The entire meal took about 4 hours. I opted for the wine pairings and my husband who doesn't drink was pleasantly surprised to find out that they offered specially created juice pairings for... More

Really an amazing food experience here with the waiter being around you most of the time without disturbing you, watching the chefs work in the kitchen and the light being down low, leaving me and my girlfriend in a very intimate atmosphere, enjoying the exquisite wines, the scents and the food, as tasty as it was strange at times (roasted... Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
