Great Czech food! Don't be fooled by tourism spot

Massive portions of quality, fresh czech meals. Massive salads! If you love you salads like i do they are great, plus the pork schnitzel is a beast! Its more expensive than other czech places but its very tasty so don't think you're not getting anything for your money!

We had a late lunch here on our first day in Prague. To say it was fantastic is an understatement. Large meals, good prices, service was great and beer was the best! We were that impressed we went back again the next day. For a family of 4 from Australia trying to satisfy 2 fussy kids (10 & 8), this... More

We stopped off for some drinks after a long night of walking around the city. The costumed medieval warrior had caught our eyes earlier in the day and we thought, why not? Good service and good atmosphere with enough beers to keep us interested for two rounds. The food looked and smelled good but we did not partake.

My husbond and i had a fantastic dinner at Svateho Vaclava. My husbond ordered a steak with fried egg, which turned out to be the most tender steak he ever had. The atmosphere and service is very rustic and cosy. We where so satisfied with the first visit that we came again a couple of days later where we tried... More

We ordered a mixed platter to share and it was good! There was a mix of pork knuckles, duck and a few other things. The goulash was yummy and came with bread dumplings (which looked like plain sliced bread) and potato dumplings (which looked like potato rolled with some meat); we were expecting dumplings like those served in Chinese restaurants!... Located on Wenceslas Square it was a great location to stop for lunch. The food was tasty and the service was good. As a non meat eater I enjoyed the farmers market omelette which was yummy.

This restaurant is really well placed on Wenceslas Square . Great food. Very friendly atmosphere. It was a very pleasurable experience and dished were very well-priced. I had the Goulash Soup/Stew served in a loaf of bread and it was amazing. This visit happened in August 2011.

This restaurant has something for everyone, including veggie options. I tried their suckling pork speciality and it was cooked we and tasty. This place is good for groups of all sizes and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Worth a visit if you're staying or visiting sites nearby

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
