The restaurant U ZLATEHO LVA (The Golden Lion) is located right in the heart of the center of Prague, a stone’s throw from the Old Town Square, in an old gothic cellar which provides a cozy and warm atmosphere. The restaurant’s menu is returning to the roots of old Czech gastronomy specializing in serving purely natural, well-balanced home-made cuisine without any industrial additives, preserving agents or artificial substitutes. All ingredients are hand picked by our chefs and come from suppliers from Czech lands and Moravia. You will be able to taste the favourite Czech meals such as duck or schnitzel as well as typical seasonal offerings. Our culinary professionals have paired with experts from a private anti-aging clinic to make sure the menu is beneficial to our digestive system and helps to fight civilization diseases. This ongoing cooperation has brought the restaurant a certificate as the 1st anti-aging restaurant in the Czech Republic. The drinks selection is plentiful, including draught beer and high quality Moravian wines from a small family vineyard of Jilji Herzan specially selected for our restaurant. U Zlateho lva is air-conditioned with seating capacity of 75, including two private rooms for 8 and 22 persons suitable for holding private meetings or celebrations.

Cozy restaurant

Had a great time at this venue with friends. Located in a rejuvenated basement it has a cozy atmosphere. Service and language level indicates they're not too familiar with outside visitors, but we got everything we wanted - and more - through a laugh. Food wise it was more than expexted... read more

We went here after the tour guide told us that it was better than the old town tourist places and half the price. Food was good, service good and polite and lots of atmosphere even though we ate outside and watched the world go by. I had a 1/4 Confit-style Goose (leg) main and my wife had beef with dumplings.... Prague being a beautiful city, we found U Zlateho lva by accident, located in the centre of Prague, near Old Town Square and Powder Tower. The entrance was a little obscure from the street but saw a flight of stairs decorated with pictures of the food that you can get in the restaurant. The restaurant is in a gothic cellar... More

Some restaurants are awful, some are just OK but forgettable, some are average. This one falls into the category of downright memorable. Conveniently located not too far from the Old Town Square in Prague, this underground lair of a restaurant serves delicious Czech-style meals, Budvar beer, and has a nice selection of wines. My wife had pork tenderloin with a... More

Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city.
