Good local fare in Vinohrady

U Posty is the type of Czech restaurant you expect to find outside of the tourist district, yet it's very close to a couple of tram stops and the Namesti Miru metro. Service is "Czech", food is Czech, and prices are much more reasonable than you'd pay for the same dishes in Old Town.

It feels authentic, local people go here. The value for the money is high. The most delicious dish was a toast with blue cheese that was so good I tried to make it at home. My friend ordered a cheese hamburguer that was really yummy and I tried the chicken quesadilla that was delicious also. The service was more than... More

It's off the beaten path, so don't expect any help with English. But, if you're this far off the beaten path, you're probably OK with the adventure that is non-tourist Prague, so go on in. The food is fine, although the pivo selection is somewhat limited, and the service is, well, at least friendly. Prices are definitely less than the... More

I was here for my mother's 70th birthday. I was happy to see that other patrons were also there for special occasions. One large table of 10 for a family celebration and a cute couple for romance. The food was amazing especially the cheesburgers are great and the service was even better. Our waitress was friendly and professional, everything you... More

I liked that place, a lot of typical Czech foods, but don't be surprised the foods is greasy and heavy. The garlic soup was good in the cold weather. The service was fine, the waiter was very polite and he spoke a very good English. I recommend that place but don't think you will eat light. The quality vs price... More

Staying in Vinohrady & Vrsovice

Neighborhood Profile
Vinohrady & Vrsovice
Compared to the medieval heart of Prague, this neighborhood standing on former vineyards developed very quickly in the first decades of the 19th century. Today, it is the place where everyone wants to live, and those who do, are proud of it. With its amazing parks, classicist houses, terrace cafés, artsy bars, cozy restaurants, markets, and vintage and trendy shops, it is a home for people from all around the world. This area blends expats, families, bohemian students and Prague’s hip community. It is a great place for breakfast in the morning, the best lunch places and a buzzing night life. After sundown, stroll down to Vršovice, the new center of the hipster, alternative and gay scenes in Prague.
