Good coffee, better cake, nice little cafe

I had a good double shot cappuccino from Ebel this morning. It was well made, though perhaps still on the weak side. The lemon tart we had with coffee was delicious, though. It was all very cheap - 190 crowns for two coffees and cake. If you're near the Charles Bridge, I'd recommend dropping into... read more

About the best thing I can say is Cafe Ebel has free wi-fi and takes credit cards, otherwise our experience was quite average, which was disappointing give this was the closest cafe to our hotel. The menu is simple, the quiche was good, the pastries dry and tasteless. The service was so slow that my coffee arrived to the table... More

My wife and I have visited a number of coffee shops in Prague and this was one of the best. It has a good atmosphere and friendly staff as well as having good coffee and cakes. Although it's not far from the centre, it's quite quiet.

Coffee shop hidden on a quiet street close to Ols Town centre. They have single origin coffee from around the world - one thing you should try. The pastries are good, but the coffee is the star. Must try for coffee lovers

This cafe is across the street from the Green Garland Pension (another hidden gem). We were staying there for the second time and finally went into the cafe on our last afternoon, to get away from the heat and noise on the streets of Prague...we so wish we had tried it sooner! Quiet and peaceful with a cheery, eclectic decor.... More

There are two Cafe Ebels in Prague -- one on Kaprova 11 and the other on Retezova 9. These folks are serious about coffee and even sell Blue Mountain Jamaican coffee beans. The shops are small, but the coffee and the pastries are very good. We purchased some chocolate coffee cake to go with our coffee and it was delicious.

It started to rain whilst we were walking through he Old Town and we found this little cafe on a small street, tucked away. We ate homemade soup, drank excellent coffee (and London Fog tea, which you must try!) and ate delicious homemade cheesecake. The service was excellent and the price was reasonable. We are only in Prague for 3... More

Popped into this coffee house after careful consideration - small place in the Old Town of Prague... there are many good coffee places these days. EBEL is special, because of the above. Not only did I have an excellent cappuccino there, but I managed to pick some fantastic coffee beans (freshly roasted). The staff, although still very young, were well... More

After seeing other peoples reviews, we came across Cafe Ebel while wandering around the Old Town. Had coffee and cakes and just chilled out for an hour. Cakes change daily, so you may have to return. Staff were helpful if you were not sure what to order. Lovely.

Had full breakfast which included very good coffee for 160 koruna. Nicely decorated interior and courteous service. Will be back for coffee and more breakfast during our stay in the city.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
