We went to this restaurant after reading all the positive reviews and we were not dissapointed. My husband took the famous pork knee and could not stop saying how good it was. It felt of the bone and the portion was massive. I had a steak with grean beens and that was good too. This place serves really decent familly... More

Food tastes so good! Portion was good enough for the price. Ambience is cozy and homey. Service was fast and efficient. We ordered grill platter, baked potato with bacon leeks and mushroom, duck leg with sauekraut and potato dumplings. These goes well on dark czech beer. I would love to visit this restaurant again!

After watching the Pražský orloj, Prague Astronomical Clock, strike 1:00 PM, we walked the short two blocks for lunch. We were immediately seated and we ordered: Zelná s paprikovou klobásou, Cabbage Soup with Red Pepper Sausage (45 Kč); and, Vepřové koleno pečené na pivě, křen a hořčice, Pork knee roasted on beer, horseradish and mustard (265 Kč), accompanied by Velkopopovický... Convenient location, good service, great choice of Czech cuisine to accompany your beer. Had onion soup (very good), beef steak with mushrooms properly grilled and tasty but best dish by far was the beef goulash in a bread loaf! Be sure to order it!

It's right next to the old city center, a small local place with a few tables. The waiting time for the food is very long (almost 1 hour) and the food was only OK. Atmosphere is nice but the service wasn't that good.

The beef goulash was incredible! The food was so good we went back a 2nd time in our 3 day visit to Prague. The duck is also quite nice. Their soups are very tasty and hearty especially on a winters day. Cannot go wrong with this place. Good value!

Good food at a fair price. Beer and cider were very tasty. Menu brings several local food options, for meat lovers and for vegetarians as in my case. Few small details avoided a higher score: a piece of butter "disguised" in a cheese plate (we thought it was cheese and of course chewing a big chunk of butter is not... More

We went here as it had been recommended in our posh guidebook for its potatoes. And yes, the potatoes were delicious. But that is mainly the thing worth mentioning in this place. It is located the main tourist area, just a short walk from the Astronomy clock, and unfortunately it is seen in the service. The service was indifferent. It... More

Took us two attempts to get a table but absolutely worth the wait. Not the place if you are in a rush, but great food and atmosphere.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
