Service is not the best, food is so-so= quite OK. Beer is very good. Historically this pub is one of the oldest in Plzen. Question is: Is that enough? I would recommend a different pub: Parkan, Comix, 12°. All three are quite close to this one Cheers!

The service was terrible and not a friendly atmosphere at all. The food was so-so. Would not return to this establishment.

Friendly servers - not always the case in the Czech Republic. We sat on the deck under a huge umbrella - it was a lovely evening and the place had a pleasant vibe. The apple cider was sweeter than I am used to, Mom had beer (it is the location after all). We had a goulash and dumplings and I... More

Set in a great location almost right at Plzen's main square, U Salzmannu is one of the oldest pubs in the region and really stands out between the rest. The beers are top class. The people coming here are mostly locals, which adds to the atmosphere. Food is above average, yet not the best in town. Really recommend this place... More

Good place to drink beer and to eat checz traditional food, but except the fact that it's the oldest one, this place has nothing more to be differnt from other 100 pub in Plzen...

My wife had the goulash which was OK but a bit disappointing, dumplings really are just low flavor carbs. I had Kozel dark beer which I very much enjoyed. My duck was OK though I was hoping for some sort of local flavor in the sauce. Our service was fine. We sat outside and smoking seems to be allowed at... More

We went there for dinner. The food was great, mainly typical czech food, although we were bit confused about how it was described in the menu. Service was great and the place itself is surely nice. We sat a bit far from the outside seating and the main crowd, so we were bit overlooked, but we still got everything in... More

The restaurant is semi-difficult to find, being located down an alley beside another restaurant and across the car park of said restaurant; however it is certainly not a place to miss. I confess, I stumbled in here looking for the Pilsner brewery, however I stayed as it was no less good than I had been told to expect from Plzen.... More
