Good place to drink beer and to eat checz traditional food, but except the fact that it's the oldest one, this place has nothing more to be differnt from other 100 pub in Plzen...

My wife had the goulash which was OK but a bit disappointing, dumplings really are just low flavor carbs. I had Kozel dark beer which I very much enjoyed. My duck was OK though I was hoping for some sort of local flavor in the sauce. Our service was fine. We sat outside and smoking seems to be allowed at... More

We went there for dinner. The food was great, mainly typical czech food, although we were bit confused about how it was described in the menu. Service was great and the place itself is surely nice. We sat a bit far from the outside seating and the main crowd, so we were bit overlooked, but we still got everything in... More

The restaurant is semi-difficult to find, being located down an alley beside another restaurant and across the car park of said restaurant; however it is certainly not a place to miss. I confess, I stumbled in here looking for the Pilsner brewery, however I stayed as it was no less good than I had been told to expect from Plzen.... More

On a week visit to Plzen we at this restaurant a number of times. It is a Urquell brewery pub, but this enhanced the service as they have a terrific menu and the procedures are good, great service, busy bars and restaurant, good atmosphere. We recommend the salmon salad, the ghoulash (dumplings are very good - 3 styles - if... More

The house is one of the oldest restaurants in Pilsen. You get great Czech (and international) food at very good prices. Do also try their dark beer. Service is fast and efficient, but do not expect a colloquial attendant. One section is for smokers, so you may select according to your habits.

We spent just a night in Plzen and we needed a good dinner and beer to refresh after so many hours travelling by car. After the dinner (the roasted duck was great and also the pancakes with homemade jam were wonderful) we found literally restorated. On the beer's quality there's nothing to say (Czech's beers are always the best), but... More

This establishment is just off of the main square, on a nice little street lined with bars and hotels. The staff is quite friendly and was quick to seat us and take orders. I was pretty surprised at how quickly the food arrived- not always a good sign. Based on my limited experience dining in the Czech Republic, this place... More
