Try Something Authentic in This Medieval Tavern

During our visit to Cesky Krumlov we ate at this old tavern. It is housed in an old medieval house and it has a very authentic atmosphere. It has a wonderful terrace on the river but because it was cold outside, we sat at the small porch which has magnificent view to the castle. The food (based on... read more

Very nice little restaurant with fantastic service. The waitress was helpful, answered every questions we had (and we had a lot) about the town or the history of the restaurant. Cosy, comfortable, we ate 5 times there, nice food and the mead is really lovely!

We had a very interesting time, first meal we had was here. Serves typical Czech dishes and local beer brand (Eggenberg). Place was cozy, some smaller tables have the river view. Service was good, waitress was friendly. Total bill for 2 was 420 CZK (2 meals and 3 drinks). We ended up paying 412 CZK simply because the waitress did... More

We choose the old bohemian feast for two people. It was the best meal I have ever had. The building is very old and beautiful. Service was nice. I recommend!

This is a really great medieval style venue offering authentic Czech cuisine. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The waitress did not try to hide her contempt for us tourists and service was quite rude. Worth a visit for the food and venue though.

Restaurant occupying an ancient tavern-looking building situated strategically along the Vltava and affording a great view of the castle. Offers traditional Czech fare prepared in the old, simple format. Authentic feel, even if it draws in many tourists.

A charming restaurants near the base of Cesky Krumlov's castle. The food was delicious, a large platter of different types of meat accompanied by vegetables and sauces. They didn't have a huge range of alcoholic drinks but there was plenty of beer, wine and vodka. They certainly don't hold back on the vodka! I have a number of food allergies... More

Martin from Pension Dolanta recommended this place for authentic food in Cesky Krumlov and it certainly was. We opted for the Bohemian feast platter with pheasant, rabbit, ham and vegetables.excellent. tried the hot mead but I don't think any of us liked that. Restaurant is inside a centuries old stone building up very narrow internal staircase.wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility challenges... More

I had a feast and the server was happy to prepare me combination of fish, chicken and ham. I really liked it as it was unusual and tasty. Large portions. I tried the mead as well. The waitress was helpful and unobtrusive, did not angle for tip. Free tap water. Lovely view and a history lesson as well!
