Went here for a meal today the menu was very limited. They had no specials I chose the chicken with matchstick chips. They were warmed up crisps. It was served on a board which the gravy ran off all down my clothes. The food was nice but not enough.

At first glance a lovely classy pub with tasteful decor and extras like orange slices in high end drinks. Menu promising, told chef was new and had worked with Girdon Ramsey. Sadly meals did not even match descriptions- black pudding mousse was a lump of burnt black pudding. Sloe creme brûlée with crisp tulle biscuit? Odd slimed chocolate concoction with... More

Been there twice now, first time had the pork which was lovely and second time had the steak, which again was nice ( though the accompanying tomato and mushrooms were overcooked and tired which at these prices is not good enough). There was something in common on both visits though and that was the general atmosphere which did seem to... More

Been here twice recently once for dinner and then for a Father's Day lunch. On both occasions the place was quite full so obviously popular. The service is good and helpful and the prices are excellent (£20 for 3 courses on Father's Day). The food on both occasions has been imaginitive and very well cooked with quality local ingredients. Good... More

Having taking some time deciding where to dine today, although I could not fault the food at all, I cannot deny that some growth is required in the service department. When we initially asked for a table, the lady, who I assume is the owner of the pub, appeared flustered and unwelcoming and informed us that there would be a... More
