Romantic Birthday lunch

What I imagined an English country pub should be. Ordered fish and steak and wasn't disappointed. Matched perfectly with the local ales. Truly happy experience!

4 of us went to the Bell on Monday evening, it has been a few years since I last visited so was pleasantly surprised at the changes made ( most likely a long time ago ) Must say the service was not great but as we girls had a lot of catching up to do the time passed quickly .our... More

Another great meal. The menu never fails to please, the staff are attentive and the restaurant has a warm atmosphere. Even early mid week it is busy and wise to book.

After several months, decided to re-visit an old favourite often visited for lunch. This time it was for a mid-week evening dinner. a very full car park, suggested that tables could be a problem, however we were seated in no time, but were informed that there was another booking for the table later, this was not a problem, our intention was to have a meal and... On this last visit to The Bell, the service was the highight, though the food was fine: good selection of options, depending on one's need and appetite.

I visited with my family for a late Sunday lunch. This was our first visit and we loved the choice on the menu. Prices are higher than your average pub, however the decor and lovely sunshine made it feel well worth while. We ate outside as it was a fine day. The food was all very tasty, and nice and... More

We decided to have lunch here earlier this week. The first thing that happened was I found us a corner while my husband got drinks, only then to be moved to another part of the pub as they were having a large party in and wanted to put them all in the corner i was sat in, I know this... More

We used to go to this pub years ago and always had a good experience and then it changed and went 'upmarket' and so did the prices. We decided to give it another go but left very disappointed. It is pretentious and pricey and we will not be going back. There was may be a handful of people in there... More

Called in on spec on Saturday night as was passing as the place looked good. Car park was very busy, but whilst we could not get a table in the restaurant (45min wait), we could get one in the bar area. Ordered food & drinks and whilst some of it was nice, the fish & chips are probably the worst... More

Great for those who can't be bothered to cook and appreciate bland boil in the bag food. Typical pub food that won't be visited by me or any of my relatives or friends unless they break down on the car park and are desperate.
