Great find in Ronda

We were wandering around the city on Sunday night looking for a place that took our fancy. A few places were closed which limited our original choices but we ended up very happy that they were. Recently visited Ronda (a sort of annual pilgrimage) and paid first visit to El Sacristan. How had I missed it before? First course 'Migas': classic local dish (bread crumbs soaked in garlic, bacon bits, fried egg on top!), and then one of the day's specials - delicious octopus main course. Service attentive but unobtrusive. Reasonable bill. The restaurant is about... More

Recommended by Lorenzo at our hotel Poeta La Ronda as a good place where the locals eat. He was right! And they are a lucky bunch to have this on their doorstep. Great setting in the historic quarter looking out to the Town Square and park. We ate Iberico jamon and a whole local chorizo, white asparagus with red Ronda... More

Mostly outstanding reviews on TA and we didn't have postres so I can't comment about that menu. However, the main menu is an excellent description of local tastes and flavours. Lots of choice. We ordered a bespoke salad and got exactly what we sought. The meat dishes, and there are plenty on offer, are cooked in a wood fired oven... More

This restaurant was recommended by several locals and we were not disappointed. The steaks had lots of flavour and the paella certainly was worth the wait. They even served our favourite, sangria de cava, so will definitely go back and it seems the best restaurant in terms of price/quality so far! Waiters all very helpful and friendly too.

Our second visit in two years and the service and welcome still top notch. Simple, delicious fresh food served with a big Andalusian smile in an atmospheric setting. One of the very few places to serve fresh, melt-in-the-mouth calamari.

My wife and me and our three children had dinner at Meson El Sacristan yesterday evening. This place is excellent - both the service and the food. We had the EUR 25 pp menu and we felt spoiled from the start... 6-7 different excellent tapas followed by an amazing Iberian grilled Pork main course and a cheese cake and chocolate... More

Stopped in for lunch, so enjoyed the service and chef/owner Antonio we went back to the hotel, napped, and came back for dinner. Truly our most favorite experience and meal during our two week trip. The food was fantastic and perfectly cooked (in a wood burning oven). The black pork was truly special, as tender and flavorful as any beef... More

Our decision to eat here during a recent stay in Ronda was based entirely on the generally positive reviews for Meson El Sacristan on Trip Advisor and the fact that the restaurant occupies a high ranking amongst the restaurants in Ronda. It would be fair to say that we came here with high expectations. Unfortunately, we were left very disappointed.... More

This is the second time we've been here and the service remains excellent and the food was even better. It is away from the main hustle of Ronda and really worth the short walk. Enjoy!
