Dining with the locals...!

Decided to try out this place after reading reviews here..... Well we certainly were not disappointed.... Very much the Spanish experience. Food was good gambas Pil Pil very good. Very reasonable and my ten year old even got to play football with the locals. Well worth the visit.

We stayed close by to the San Francisco bodega when we stayed in Ronda in 2012 and often popped down for lunch or dinner during our two week stay and always had a great experience - it is in a lovely location just outside if the old town and in a tree lines square that gives welcome protection from the... Lovely authentic tapas in a beautiful setting. Entertaining watching the waiters negotiate the road with arms full of food and drinks. Pork kebabs, quail eggs and anchovies yummy. We ordered half portions of each dish and four/five dishes plenty for two with a good appetite

During our stay in Ronda we had dinner at this bar a few times. We sat mostly in the square and arriving around 21.30 usually gets you a table there. Start of with some tapas and then progress into some 1/2 raciones while having some wine or beers and just enjoy the atmosphere. This place is very busy always and... More

Mingle with locals at this spot just outside the old city wall. The owner may loose his cool and start yelling at staff but that's part of the experience. The food was pretty good but good value, especially the wine options. It's a real Andalusian experience.

We went to San Fransisco as a result of a recommendation and wished we hadn't. What could have been a really nice experience was spoiled by poor service even by laid back Spanish standards. The restaurant dominates the area just outside the city wall and you can choose street or square seating, sun or shade. We opted for the square... More

Lovely setting, beautiful surroundings, awful service (lots of staff, but all in panic, nobody really serving), only 20% of excellent winelist actually available, and then the food...severely overcooked and cold when arriving at the table. Friendly owner saw the problem, but still tried to argue that the burnt chicken is how its supposed to be cooked... Low prices, even lower... More

One of my top ten memorable bars of the world. Full of genuine character, and the prices are unbeatable. Small but intimate. Rest your sherry glass on an old barrel and taste the hams.

If you are fed up with the usual touristic places why not get away from the usual restaurants that are centrally located? Why not try this establishment situated at the other end of the old town? The place is usually full of spanish clients which it's always a good sign. The service was very good, the food even better and... More

We tried a lot of stuff here and everyone was very happy with the portions and and flavors. The value is nice, and the the beers are cold. Unlike many smaller places in Ronda you can walk-up here and get a table. I'd come back, but would want to try some of the other places as well.
