Fantastic night out with the locals, but don't go if you are in a hurry!

Having passed this plaza just outside the city walls several times and seen how busy the restaurants were, we decided to give it a go on our last Friday night in Ronda. We arrived about 8.30 and got a table for 6 with no problem but it clearly is difficult to get a table later and people were... read more

Great location in the square, just outside the old city walls. Very popular with the locals so be prepared to wait for a table, or find a corner of the bar to squeeze into. All the classic Spanish favourites are here - great ham, calamari, padron peppers, anchovies, pinchos, serranitos and more. It's lively, fun, friendly and full of atmosphere.... More

It's affordable, delicious and popular with the local population. If you go too late, you might find yourself waiting a long time, but it's worth the wait. Check this place out so you can get some real Andalusian food.

We were a group of 9 friends and didn't get into town until 9:30 and headed straight to Bodega San Francisco on a recommendation - we hadn't booked so had to wait about an hour for our table but had a drink at the bar in the meantime. We were not disappointed and it was worth the wait. Really great... More

Decided to try out this place after reading reviews here..... Well we certainly were not disappointed.... Very much the Spanish experience. Food was good gambas Pil Pil very good. Very reasonable and my ten year old even got to play football with the locals. Well worth the visit.

We stayed close by to the San Francisco bodega when we stayed in Ronda in 2012 and often popped down for lunch or dinner during our two week stay and always had a great experience - it is in a lovely location just outside if the old town and in a tree lines square that gives welcome protection from the... Lovely authentic tapas in a beautiful setting. Entertaining watching the waiters negotiate the road with arms full of food and drinks. Pork kebabs, quail eggs and anchovies yummy. We ordered half portions of each dish and four/five dishes plenty for two with a good appetite

During our stay in Ronda we had dinner at this bar a few times. We sat mostly in the square and arriving around 21.30 usually gets you a table there. Start of with some tapas and then progress into some 1/2 raciones while having some wine or beers and just enjoy the atmosphere. This place is very busy always and... More

Mingle with locals at this spot just outside the old city wall. The owner may loose his cool and start yelling at staff but that's part of the experience. The food was pretty good but good value, especially the wine options. It's a real Andalusian experience.

We went to San Fransisco as a result of a recommendation and wished we hadn't. What could have been a really nice experience was spoiled by poor service even by laid back Spanish standards. The restaurant dominates the area just outside the city wall and you can choose street or square seating, sun or shade. We opted for the square... More
