Here's the scoop. Ronda has the best tomatoes in Spain. El Campillo has the best tomatoes in Ronda, personally grown by the owner. My wife and I walked past the restaurant in the old town, spotted a bowl of tomatoes, bigger than softballs and perfectly ripe. We each had one sliced on a plate, with freshly made oil and salted. Bread,... More

Located just by some of the most spectacular views in Ronda, if not in Spain, we very much enjoyed our meal at El Campillo. I had pork which was cooked to perfection, whilst the rest of the group thoroughly enjoyed their meals too. The service was also excellent, with the waiter being particularly chatty. Overall, very good.

We stopped for drinks only, and were pleasantly surprised that they served tea made with hot water ( a rarity I find, in Spain). Good ice-creams, pleasant service. Worth returning to sample their food menu by the look of the food being eaten and enjoyed by our neighbours. The location is great for views of the new bridge and the... More

Nice for drinks, food is fine, tapas only average but what a place to consume a meal and a drink. There is a guitarist there that plays great Spanish tunes and other serenades to complete an Andalusian evening.

It's a simple little restaurant serving the usual Ronda dishes but stands out because of these important factors: 1. Located on this pretty Plaza near the entrance to the path leading down to bottom of the gorge and the most amazing views of the New Bridge. 2. In addition to the menu they offer interesting specials, but check the prices... More

We returned to El Campillo for lunch (only had drinks there before) after being summarily dismissed from Ronda's No 1 TripAdvisor recommended restaurant/bar as they were "fully booked with people waiting", with not so much as a "can you come back at ?? time" . .. . It is in a lovely setting - by a little square with resident... More

This restaurant is in a pretty plaza and the menu looked interesting. We shared a tomato & goat cheese salad (very good), then had the special broad bean with iberico ham (bitter), ceps with rice......, nothing special ,a jug of sangria (yummy), total €63. Watch out they charge for the bread and they tried to overcharge us on the main... More

Had quite a walk from the car park at the top of Calle Espinel in the newer part of Ronda, lots of photos around both sides of the road across the gorge, then a slow walk up Calle Tenorio in the old part of Ronda. Finding El Campillo and the small plaza, full of lots of shade and with some... More

After a hike down the gorge , I enjoyed sittng with my friends listening to the guitaist and having mixed tapas and sangria! The tapas was great especially the meatball and gaspacho. Prices were reasonable and the servoce was fun and attentive.

We had been intending to have dinner at the no.1 rated restaurant in Ronda but it was full so we decided to look elsewhere and had passed this place earlier. It is in the corner of a pretty and quiet square and on the other side there is a view of the gorge. There was a guitarist playing in the... More
