Good Food, Wonderful Views

Located just by some of the most spectacular views in Ronda, if not in Spain, we very much enjoyed our meal at El Campillo. I had pork which was cooked to perfection, whilst the rest of the group thoroughly enjoyed their meals too. The service was also excellent, with the waiter being particularly... read more

Visited this place while on a daytrip to Ronda. Waiter recommended scrambled eggs and asparagus to me, and I as a gullible tourist believed him. Fair to say, I shouldn't have. The dish that was served to me was literally just poorly cooked eggs and pieces of asparagus for 14 euros total, one of the worst tasting dishes I've ever... More

We have been there in the beginning of November. The terrace is well protected from the wind, sunny, good food and service. Really enjoyable moment .

On a day trip to Ronda we decided to have lunch at El Campillo. The shaded outside seating, lovely view out over Ronda and the sight of the dishes being served decided for us. The staff are helpful and friendly. One of their specialities is tomatoes - huge, wonderful beef tomatoes, used in any number of ways. We had the... More

If we had stayed for more that 2 nights in Ronda I would have eaten here every night and day. Food was excellent, tasty and served politely. View is ok, its on a tiny road through the old town that saw only 2 cars passing the entire time we were there and looks out onto a little park that looks... More

The owner was keen to describe the local produce he had listed on his chalk board and how it would be served. The location of this restaurant is great particularly when you can sit outside and listen to a guitar being played in the square. The food we chose was excellent and all from the chalk board rather than the... More

Here's the scoop. Ronda has the best tomatoes in Spain. El Campillo has the best tomatoes in Ronda, personally grown by the owner. My wife and I walked past the restaurant in the old town, spotted a bowl of tomatoes, bigger than softballs and perfectly ripe. We each had one sliced on a plate, with freshly made oil and salted. Bread,... More

We stopped for drinks only, and were pleasantly surprised that they served tea made with hot water ( a rarity I find, in Spain). Good ice-creams, pleasant service. Worth returning to sample their food menu by the look of the food being eaten and enjoyed by our neighbours. The location is great for views of the new bridge and the... More

Nice for drinks, food is fine, tapas only average but what a place to consume a meal and a drink. There is a guitarist there that plays great Spanish tunes and other serenades to complete an Andalusian evening.

It's a simple little restaurant serving the usual Ronda dishes but stands out because of these important factors: 1. Located on this pretty Plaza near the entrance to the path leading down to bottom of the gorge and the most amazing views of the New Bridge. 2. In addition to the menu they offer interesting specials, but check the prices... More
