Great dinner

After one too many microwaved tapas, it was great to find somewhere serving fresh original food (including fresh fare, sometimes lacking in many places). Great flavours and imaginative menu.

This review is long overdue. We have been visiting this special place for about 10 years, and even if we didn't love Ronda so much, we'd make the trip here to this restaurant from San Francisco where we live as often as we could, no matter where it was. They have great selection in wine and beer, but TRY THE... More

Delicious food, looks and tastes great. Lots of traditional local dishes and beautiful tasty deserts. The stack of dark chocolate discs interleaved with coffee cream was amazing., Nice old traditional restaurant and bar. good friendly service. 3 courses about 35 euros a head.

We had dinner in this place and I had high expectations because of the rave reviews. We were disappointed though. The food was ok but nothing exceptional. I had rabbit and the dish consisted of nothing else than rabbit meat and a few very unhappy French fries. No veggies at all. The dessert which was called a chocolate cream with... More

Best food of my entire Spain trip. It's exactly what I was looking for and remembered from my trip to Spain 28 years ago. The leg of lamb was superb, my wife had Pork I think which was also fantastic. We had a cheese plate with local jams that was incredible. I confused this restaurant with another of a similar... We got here for lunch based on the recommendation of the owner of our hotel and my German guide book. It was a sunny day so we opt for sitting outside. The waiter, who spoke just a bit English, was very friendly and attentive. The menu was in English. We ordered the homemade pate, big gambas and tuna salad. All... More

If you know how I like good food you will be surprised that I think that this small restaurant next to the walls of Ronda is for me one of the best places I have ever eaten. I came here last week for the 5th time and was again amazed by the variety and quality of the food. Start with... More

After spending 5 weeks on the Costa del Sol, Almocabar was my favorite restaurant of them all, including a Michelin restaurant. This is a restaurant to not miss, although small and entirely in Spanish. The food is elevated, creative and just amazing. The crazy curvy drive to Ronda is worth it just for eating here (which we did twice in... More

Whenever we have visitors, we take them to our favourite restaurant, Almocabar. Also this time our friends loved it as much as we and every time it is worth the rather long drive from and to Marbella. The beauty of this small restaurant is only topped by its food. We had goat this time which was absolutely delicious and we... More

We stopped for a lunchtime drink when the bar was very busy with people having tapas. It looked good so we booked for dinner. Unfortunately in the evening the small dining room was chilly and lacked atmosphere. The food was nice enough but the service somewhat perfunctory. In a place with so much character it could have been great but... More
