Do NOT miss the opportunity to have a meal (or several!) at this restaurant! Unfortunately we only dined here once and ran out if time to go back. The quality and inventiveness of the meals made it equal to pretty much anything we had in San Sebastián and that's saying a lot. The chef obviously puts a great deal of... More

More

A modern take on a traditional Spanish dish in a lovely location. The dishes were small but unbelievable flavour combinations. We shared all of them. Our favourites: Langoustines in tempura with bay leave, Brie with orange marmalade, and the sardines.

Traga Tapas is a very modern tapas bar in Calle Nueva a few minutes from the bullring and the 'new' bridge. The dishes my wife and I ate there were each superb - certainly the best modern style tapas we have had in Spain. We started with smoked sardine served with tomato on bread. The sardine was meaty and full... More

We had lunch here our second day. It's close to the bullring and in the very touristy part of town. It's located on a street with LOTS of other outdoor dining options. Because of the location, It gets pretty noisy. There is a 10% surcharge for eating on the terrace. Service was average. There were a dozen or so tapas... More

Despite the location in the city center with lots of tourist, the waiter only knew very little english so communication was a challenge. The waiter was behind all the night. When I got a dish I had to remind the waiter that I was still waiting for the wine. When I got the wine I had to ask for cutlery.... More

This was recommended by our hotel and I have to thank them heartily for doing so. The first impression was the street was a tourist spot and some of the adjacent eateries had all the hallmarks of eateries we try to avoid, resplendent with poorly taken food shots of various bog standard/generic tapas dishes. TragaTapas's exterior did not provide too... More

We had just dined at Tragabuches, but went for a walk. Since Tragatapas sound familiar we got in. At the very first moment we fell in love with the vibrant atmosphere of the place. Sitting at the bar was the best idea, since we got our drinks quick, and the bartender was both energetic and friendly. He recommended some of... More

Tucked away on a narrow road surrounded by similar restaurants, this restaurant was a gem. The board is updated daily with only the fresh list with a few regulars sprinkled throughout the menu. The wait staff were very forgiving with our broken Spanish and helped walk us through the selections. Tempura prawns wrapped with basil was outstanding as was the... More
