Good but not great

Came here whilst in Ronda and decided to co me here for our 25th wedding anniversary Whilst it was good, don't get me wrong, it was a bit hurried, a bit lacking in atmosphere and not the excellent place we thought it would be

A very nice restaurant with views of the city. We appreciated that there were options available for vegetarians. Like most restaurants in Spain, they expect reservations.

We entered early (by Spanish standards that is, at 8:30 pm, when they opened) and did not have a reservation. Yet the welcome was warm and we got what must be their best table, in the corner with full view of the famous Puente Nuevo, beautifully lit up. We ordered the sea bass baked in salt and decided on a... More

The food in this restaurant is truly wonderful. The ingredients are local and fresh. Do not ber in a hurry though as each dish is freshly cooked and this takes a little longer but is worth the wait as the freshness leaps up off the plate. We both enjoyed all three courses - mine were vegetarian which is always a... More

We spend a couple of night in Ronda and picked with place for it's gorge-side view. We had not read the negative reviews and were glad we didn't. We had a table with an amazing view of the gorge. The serve could not have been better. Dishes were very well prepared with local produce, and was excellent. Based on our... More

We booked an early dinner (7pm) here while staying at the hotel specifically so we could savor the sunset. SO worth it. The staff was excellent. They never rushed us even though tables filled up quickly. We enjoyed a leisurely pre-dinner cocktail, then a starter before ordering. The food was good; I had the oxtail and my husband the lamb.... What a shame that a fabulous view in sophisticated surroundings with friendly waiters could be so comprehensively spoiled by truly dreadful food. The starters looked good (although fairly measly portions) but had no taste and when my friend was served his pate de foie gras without any bread they served him packet crackers before they belatedly brought over any bread.... Had a reasonable meal, with beautiful view of gorge. Starters were pretty tasteless ( mine in particular was very bland - seasonal vegetables in ravioli with pesto but no pasta or pesto present despite its really beautiful presentation).... We had suckling pig which my husband enjoyed and the traditional lamb was well cooked but was served with one potato and... More

After having a horse drawn carriage ride around old Ronda, we returned on foot to a small hotel & restaurant that we had seen. As it was around 3 pm, we were lucky enough to get a table on the Terrace, right at the railings, overlooking the gorge. There were two patio heaters to ensure that everyone was warm enough,... Stumbled on this place for lunch. The view over the gorge was lovely, the service good and the food out of the ordinary and inventive. I would say a bit of a French flair and a good change from the cured meat and cheese tapas, which is good but gets a bit regular.
