On the Beach

A popular place in the area owned by a Frenchman. The setting can't be beat. The food was good and loved that he took our plate that was finished and gave it to his dog:-) This is the kind of place that will be packed (along with Les 3 Elephants) in a few years when people discover this area

If you have totally had enough of eating Veg Thali with your fingers in India, this place will sort you out. Its CLEAN for a start and you know the kitchen is hygienic. Good food (pricey by Indian standards though) and coffee. Closed Wednsedays as we discovered after walking all the way there having had lush food there the day... More

The location right on the beach was lovely and the food was really well cooked, the choice was a bit limited but the French owner was really attentive and helpful. Shame they do not have an alcohol licence.

We ate here 2 nights of our stay in Cherai Beach. We had an afternoon walk on the beach, and stopped in for a cool drink to this funky beach-front cafe. We had a virgin mojito and a cafe frappe - both delicious, and decided to come back for dinner. We had steaks (well done) with french fries, mushroom and... More

The French owner (I think) was very accommodating and friendly. Had the squid to start followed by the tiger prawns, both lovely. Good food and setting, recommend a visit for the Seafood. Like a lot of smaller places, it's dry but that's not a bad thing.

Great place for an evening meal. Eddie and Ilona are the perfect hosts. The food is excellent we had a very nice surf and turf meal there one evening . The prawns were jucy and succulent and the steak was cooked to perfection so much so that it melted in your mouth. I would definitely reccommend a visit. Its location... More

What a find! European sounds like something you don't want in Kerala, if you want an authentic Indian experience, but Great Pizzas, salads, pasta, coffee etc. in a remote spot on one of the most beautiful beaches make this well worth a visit or two. Edi is a great host, and the Café has fantastic panoramic views over the Arabian... More

My daughter and I stumbled on this place while we were wandering along Cherai beach and what an absolute gem. The vibe here is so relaxed and chilled out, you can enjoy your food and drinks overlooking the sea while listening to the coolest tunes. The guy behind it all is originally from Paris so the food, of course, is... More
