It's a beach bar/restaurant right?

Nice spot on the beach, our table was clean enough to eat off. Server acknowledged us and came to get our drink orders quickly. Mango margaritas, OK, pretty good, after all it's a beach bar restaurant. Ordered a fish burrito, which looked just like a wrap. There was an entire fish in my wrap... read more

I did not encounter the rude waiter that some Tripadvisor reviewer had encountered. We ate here twice and had a friendly woman for our waiter. The bartender also a woman was very nice. This place is on the beach with good sandwiches and pina coladas. Younger surfer crowd but not rowdy at all during lunch.

If your looking for a more formal place, stay away. Calypso Cafe was a great place for us. The people who work there are extremely friendly as well as the people who own the shops around it. By the time I left, I felt like I was part of their community. The food was good. I had the churrasca? and... More

Stopped by after checking out the surf at the beach just steps away. Great place to grab drinks and a casual bite. Awesome spot to overlook the water and just take in the scene.

Great location, right on the beach...a surfer mecca. Lunch was casual, good service, loved the music but food was just alright. Came back for late night and saw a live band, drank fruity rum drinks and had a great time dancing. Definitely recommend!

I went to Calypso with a friend for lunch on Feb 18. Our check was $32.. . Tip of $6.50 was automatically added to our check (approx 20%) There were other friends dining at Calypso at the same time.....we cautioned them that the tip was added to the check...we chatted with them later and they informed us tip was not... Great restaurant for casual dining. We actually had lunch in our bathing suits and cover ups after an afternoon of sea glass hunting on the nearby beaches. Weekends are known for live music during happy hour. Mahi Mahi tburritos were excellent! Ice cold beers and cocktails were available.

Like being in Southern California. Fun and kitschy decor. Looks over the ocean. Food and drinks just ok, atmosphere very cool and hip. A sort of "must see" tourist surf place.

The atmosphere is great, feel free to take your plastic drinks down to the beach, where you'll find a perfect swing that is probably occupied but is picturesque. The staff is solid and it seems to be a local favorite but the drinks were unimpressive and pretty conservative pours, which is rare for the island. You can't beat the views... More

Dinner with sunset tonight at the Calypso was delicious as usual! I got the Churasco (again) and just love the tender steak with Chimichurri. We sat at the bar, and our bartender/server; Diana was lovely and attentive. She is one of the best servers I have met and we hope to see her again!
