Das Alpen is a curious blend of German and Italian dishes, leaning more to the German side, I think. But they just kill a few things that no one else around here does. For example, they do a double cut brined and grilled pork chop that will have you talking to yourself. The jaegerschnitzel is another favorite. Everything on the... More

Clean, inviting restaurant with excellent customer service. The Jägerschnitzel was cooked perfectly, as was the red cabbage. The coffee was the best on the island.

In the san juan night bar hopping tour, my first stop in das halpen cafe. Two artisan aleman beers and pretzel with mustard sauce, great combination . Nice ambience , great beers and good service.

We stumbled upon this our last night in Rincon and are so glad we did. Excellent food and service. We tried a few samplers and will definitely make this our go-to spot the next time we are visiting in the town. YUMMY!

Location is very accesible (if you go by main street, there is no way you can miss it). The food is real good (not quite like in Germany, but it is the best on the island, as far as I have tried). The service was excellent, the background music was ok, actually Northern Italy (Dolomiten) and Souther Germany the main... More

We just had dinner at this place. Our first time. We came to take advantage of a Monday night special in which certain items in the menu were at half price. The food was very good. Service was excellent. The dining room is very comfortable with relaxing background music. The only cons are: dishes are a little pricey; and, the... More

Always consistently good food and offer a wide variety of good international wine and beers. We got there for every celebration; birthdays, Christmas, October Fest, and finishing our taxes. The food transports us back to our German/Swiss grandmother's table as she cooked with love. Attention to the details of the food, drink, and atmosphere. We have returned for years now.

The beer selection was excellent. The atmosphere and ambience were great. The food is another story. The appetizers were too expensive for the portions that were served (three little pieces of bread and one small sausage for $9.00 dollars?). My wife's goulash had obviously been removed from the freezer and microwaved because the outer edges were warm and the center... More

We had dinner at Das Alpen with our two teen girls and German exchange student. We thought the food was great and reasonably priced. There was a good beer selection (we are admittedly not beer connoisseurs). We tried the Weiner Schnitzel, Gulash, and pasta and all was great. The atmosphere was nice as were the staff. We recommend it.

My husband doesn't eat meat, so were ordered the pasta, which was good but not great and of moderate size. We each had the caprese salad, which was a special, only to be presented with the house salad which came with the pasta. It would have been good to have been told that. We each had soup, and I had...
