Tranquil refuge in the medina souks

After a chaotic (but fun) morning participating in the adventure that is the souks of the medina we took refuge at Le Jardin for a lunch break. The food and service was good but the best offering was the second level terrace with relaxing lounge chairs shaded from the noon-hour sun. Just for fun... read more

We went there for a nice international supper but we were left bitterly disappointed. We arrived and were seated, however we were not served for over an hour. All we received was a plate of chopped up vegetables chucked in front of us and no discussion of drinks or anything. The food around us looked terrible, very dry and plain.... More

Do not be put off by the simplicity of the menu. Every item we tasted was superb. Lamb with prunes was perfectly cooked, but the highlight was definitely the duck with figs.Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. I cannot recommend this place too highly.

...and then you find yourself in a lovely restaurant with a garden growing in the middle. Service very good, food really delicious. The pastille was a little over cooked but seemed not to affect the taste. The lamb tag one was delicious enough spice to add taste and flavour but without being bland. Wine served was not really cold enough.

Very atmospheric. Recommended by Lonely Planet but not so great food. My veg tagine was fine, the harissa was not very good, almost stale and my husband was dissatisfied with his fish. Don't recommend unless going for drinks or tea.

we had dinner in this place as one of the better places the guide book recommended this place. The atmosphere was great with greenery around however the service was not great with waiter taking a long time to take orders. The food was one of the worst out of any of the places in Marrakesh. The lamb tagine had a... More

Easily one of the best places in town for lunch or dinner. Great food and service, and a bit like an oasis in the middle of the medina.

After coming for years to Morocco and always passing by Marrakesh, it’s amazing how we can still be surprised and always discover new things. This time our group wanted something different, so I asked a local friend what he would recommend. He gave me the indications and of we went to the medina. When we got near the indicated street... Very pretty garden terrace. Nice vibes, modern, but good traditional Moroccan food. I had the lamb and prunes tagine and my partner had the fish tagine. Nice cocktails as well. And cute tortoises walking around.

Went for lunch, food was okay. But our server (middle age man in a too-right shirt, in case management is reading) was very rude throughout, and mocked us when we asked for the check for the second time after 30 min waiting. Terrible experience.
