This restaurant is located on the left hand side of the main square a short distance from the Cathedral. Dining is alfresco in the main but I chose the Steak and a glass of red wine. Both were excellent. The steak had been cooked over wood and the taste was so good. The size of the steak was... read more

We visit Cuenca every year for 3-to-4 weeks and have been doing so for the past 10 years. Over the years we have eaten in most of the local restaurants and, without a doubt, Restaurant Mangana is our favourite. The food, particularly from the a la carte menu, is fresh, well sourced and beautifully seasoned and cooked. But what makes... More

We should have known better than to go to a place in the tourist trap zone but we arrived late with many places closing. The food and service we received was well below standard. The chorizo del ciervo was dry and unappetizing. The entrecot consisted of at least a third of fat and gristle. Our comments were left ignored by... More

We stayed at the parador but wanted simple unpretentious Spanish food and this small restaurant had it. The meat was grilled in front of us and to perfection. A great simple fresh salad and wonderful local red wine. Authentic great meal and service.

The restaurant looks like any of the thousands of restaurants on plazas throughout Spain. We ate at Mangana our first night in Cuenca. As it was a little chilly, the owner lent my wife a wrap to keep her warm. We had pisto manchego, gazpacho andaluz, and solomillo de cerdo a la brasa. The food is nothing fancy but fair... More

Only had drinks and tapas but what a great atmosphere there was in here! Long and narrow bar so it took us a while to get past the bottleneck however soon found a corner with leaning space. Beware of the olives as my partner smelt of them for 2 days after.

We had a small lunch break at this restaurant at the plaza Mayor. Service was unfriendly and slow. The food could not reach a good standard. Next time we will look for another restaurant.!

Great place, thought the food was delicious. Lentil stew, Jamon iberico, artichokes all delicious. Cheap and cheerful. Don't expect a luxury or fancy dining experience as this is very casual.

POSITIVE: - The tasting menu is great! For 24 € each we discovered some typical dishes. Good price, better taste and amount. - Location: Normally I’m quite suspicious with restaurants in such a good location (tourist-oriented), but the Plaza Mayor is great. We enjoyed our meal while pleasantly sunbathing. - Friendly staff: Nice, friendly employees who explained us what we... More

We were there in late November -- so it was empty. We found the service prompt and attentive. We thought the food was very good. We had: Pan (2): €2.00 Agua (1): €2.50 Dominio de a Vega Cava Brut: €15.00 Bodega los Llanos Pata Negra Gran Reserva 2002: €14.00 (We always need two bottles with dinner in Spain!) Ensalata mixta:...
