Lovely Authentic Portuguese style with a twist

My wife and I discovered this lovely spot on the side of the road this Easter and we liked it so much that we just had to go back again . The restaurant is intimate and charming and the food is a delicious blend of simple traditional Portuguese style with a subtle Asian hint. The staff are... read more

This was my first visit to Malveiro despite holidaying in the area for more than 15 years I had never come across it. Being tucked away on one of the roads away from Almancil makes its easily missed but what a treat this place is. The owners are super friendly and incredibly proud of their restaurant you can tell and... More

We went on recommendation of friends one Saturday night in March. Got the at 8pm and were the only ones there. Within an hour it was full. Two tables of Brits and about 12 tables of Portugese - always a good sign when the locals go there. Menu is limited but this can be good. We had an excellent prawn... More

Malveiro has dishes one cannot miss: Stewed veal, Lamb in a tille and the exquisite curries. All to be washed down with surprising wine choices by the very attentive owner. The taste of home made food served in an elegante environment.

Before writing this review, I have read through many of the others. Maybe I was just unlucky last night. I agree the owner ( son ) comes across as enthusiastic and charming. When we arrived he opened the door for my wife and I, and made as feel very welcome. The waitress was really good and recommended the house white wine,... More

My wife and I accidentally stumbled across this hidden gem as we searched for a local restaurant on foot, having arrived in Portugal quite late. The place was absolutely packed but the staff made us welcome and reconfigured tables to accommodate us. It didn't take long before we realised our luck was in! Malveiro has a special atmosphere, created by... More

You could easily drive by Resturante Malveiro and not notice it, what a mistake you would make!!. Malveiro is a hidden gem run by a fantastic individual who exudes passion in relation to his restaurant. Menu choice caters for all tastes but the Curry offerings are fantastic. I have been raving about this restaurant and have been remiss in not... More

Visited: 12/09/14 Overall: 8/10 I would recommend booking early and requesting a seat in the front conservatory. I think with an early time slot you will benefit from the best of the service also. All of the food looked great, my prawn curry was very tasty & the prices are much more reasonable than some of the more touristy restaurants.... More

We ate here after a business meeting, I had heard a lot about the restaurant. The food is brilliant, the starters just kept coming and were beautiful. The highlight of my meal was the king prawn curry, the prawns were huge, there was 3 of them, at least 25 to 30 cm in length. I cant wait to go back.... More
