Sweet spot in a hidden corner of Tuscany. Great meal, imaginative menu in a tiny city that is the truffle capital of Tuscany. We passed on the truffles and didn't miss them at all

This place should not be missed if you are anywhere in the area. As others have said-don't make the mistake of not going in because of the exterior which we almost did. The inside is charming and the food is exceptional. Have the wild boar crostini which is the world's best sloppy joe! The Pici is wonderful no matter how... More

From the outside this restaurant looks like a local and not very impressive Bar, but, once inside it's a whole different story. 3 very attractive rooms decorated in a light country style and a warm welcome await. Real Tuscan cooking, professional, friendly service and very reasonable prices. Really creative cooking using only what is fresh at the moment. In truffle... More

Excellent Tuscan food with meats provided by the butcher next door, and vegetables by local farms. An excellent place to sample the truffles that have made this area famous. Like all restaurants in Tuscany, outstanding wines.

There are many good restaurants in the area, and one of our go-to places was shut when we dropped by for lunch. That's how we discovered this little jewelI. The exterior is very unremarkable and we would have driven by, had the three small outside tables not been set for lunch with colourful plates and blankets. So we stopped and... More

A great place to stop and refuel in this truffle haven. Even the cheese has truffles mixed in. I'm ready to return.

We stayed in the village for a couple of weeks and ate here twice. They were two of the best meals we had- including much pricier, fancier establishments. The service was friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Every mouthful was a treat! If you are in San Giovanni and you are undecided whether to go to the Castella... More

Located right in the middle of San Giovanni village, the restaurant specializes in Truffles (San Giovanni is famous for them) but the menu is large (truffle dishes only make up about 1/4). We had the mixed truffle starter and different pasta dishes. The pasta is homemade. It was good. Look out for the nice restaurant cat (its not on the... More

This is a lovely surprise - a small attractive restaurant in the unspoilt countryside of San Giovanni d'Asso. The food is quite delicious and reflects the patronne's interest in local and seasonal produce, mixed with a really unusual take on the tuscan traditional menu - truffles, pici, great meat - but also wonderful melon and mint and feta salad, home... The facade of this tiny place doesn't tell the truth about a restaurant which, inside, has a nice, romantic decor and serves very tasty dishes. The all-female crew offers a modern version of the Tuscan cuicine, nothing extrem just a bit of enjoiable difference! This place is also to be visited if you want to taste the local summer black...
