Fabulous place. Lovely location

I have eaten here many times and it never disappoints. The menu selection is great and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed. The staff are welcoming and the service is perfect.

prompted by reading reviews of this place we visited the restaurant several times in the hope that it could only get better. The location is in a nice rural setting. the restaurant itself is nice and cosy with open fires, you can sit outside in good weather over looking the river. But the food is very expensive for what you... More

Visited the restaurant with my Irish in-laws at their suggestion and was blown away. A beautiful clear winters day made the venue even more special. The quaint thatched building alongside the river was a welcoming site on arrival. Despite not having a booking we were accommodated quickly and warmly by the friendly staff. Wonderful seafood chowder was followed by a... More

We heard nothing but raves about Morans and were not disappointed. It's easy to find near Kilcolgan, with signs clearly marking the turnoff from the highway. It was midday on New Year's Eve and from our seats at the bar we could see the tables filling up quickly. Everyone behind the bar was extremely pleasant and welcoming, despite the busy... More

Stopped here for lunch and it was well worth coming off the main road at Kilcolgan. Excellent soup, sandwich and there were lots of other great options. Lovely setting and friendly service. What more do you need to break a journey?

Morans on the Wier is my guilty pleasure. Yes it can be expensive depending on your menu selection but you can choose your own price range as in most restaurants. The service is always friendly and efficient. The chowder is to die for. Mussels and oysters so fresh and bursting with flavour. My favourite is on the lite bites though,... More

I don't know how I had never come across of this restaurant or even heard of it before this but, better late than never! Myself and my boyfriend drove 20 mins in the wrong direction and out of our way to get here but, we are glad we did! Not only was the food delicious but the views and tranquil... More

The food was fantastic and the history of seven generations of the Moran family in the establishment was fascinating. It came through in the food :) Very glad I had the opportunity to sample their food. Highly recommend this place.

Ate here on a busy Friday night, the atmosphere was buzzing.I had the garlic crab claws which were unbelievably good and the seafood special for mains which was really fresh and tasty. All the girls were very happy with their food. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back for more!

Stumbled upon this place by accident (although it is quite well known and we were apparently oblivious) I grew up by the sea and love seafood. This place had simple but amazing food that you can truly believe has been passed down for generations (7 I believe). Wanting to sample a variety of fair we had their seasonal raw oysters... More
