Farewell dinner

Had a lovely meal of oysters followed by lobster. Good friendly service, beautifully cooked food. Best we've had this fortnight.

We arrived here at lunchtime on a warm and sunny day. Unfortunately all seats outside were taken and we were accommodated inside. A great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff welcomed us! As we got to our table, we received a small basket of homemade brown bread (of which we ordered another load, because it was so outstanding!! You then have the... More

Morans is based in a great location and that will never change. However what has changed is that it now seems to be running on the location alone and a past reputation for outstanding sea food that seems long gone. Morans serve good food however it is difficult to justify their current pricing for what is offered. There are places... More

This was my first visit to the legendary Morans. I love Chowder so I looked forward to having it in Morans. It was very disappointing ! It was very thin, not creamy and (in my opinion) lacking in fish content. The worst part was that it had several small bones and small pieces of skin in it. Normally I would... More

Morans is beautiful thatched cottage style restaurant with lots of character in a lovely setting. Staff were helpful and efficient. Was looking good until I got my fish and chips. Sadly this was a big let down. There seemed to be a bit of a premium on price but didn't measure up on quality. Batter was not crisp but soggy... More

This renowned seafood restaurant came highly recommended. Expectations were raised but the food served on our visit did not match the hype. On a cold Saturday evening the restaurant was certainly warm and welcoming providing a convivial and relaxed ambience. The staff keen to promptly take an order. Fish and chips dish presumably is less popular here as what was... More

Caught up with my sister and her family in Galway and decided to try out this place as we are all big into seafood. The seafood was very fresh, as to be expected and well prepared and served but not to fine dining standards (which is maybe because of the hype around it). The seafood chowder, oysters and fish and... More

Old school, local, authentic, historic, hospitable, delicious. This place is right out of a storybook especially since it was my first time in Ireland, I was hosted by a local, and I was eager for a seafood meal and a pint or two on a cold, rainy, foggy night in January. It couldn't have been more perfect after some heavy... More

This is the place we visit every time we are in Galway. A place for the best Galway fresh seafood and the best oysters. It's a nice intimate venue, the staff are friendly and efficient. There's a nice atmosphere there in the pub, and it's a lovely picturesque views from the front of the cottage.
