Beautifully presented food, beautiful location

Wasabi sits RIGHT on the Noosa River, there is no road between the restaurant and the river, the only noise will be the odd small boat or paddle boarder going by. Went there with my husband - we had the 9 course option - every dish was amazing - deffo a one off experience, staff was great at explaining every dish - wine menu is great and the location and ambience is lovely - a bit pricey - but worth the experience!

We chose the 3 course a la carte dining option and it was great! The food is very good and they use all fresh ingredients from their farm (Honeysuckle Hill). Staff are very knowledgeable and know exactly what is in everything and they explain each item on the plate which is nice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends... More

From the moment we walked in the service was amateurish. Not what you expect from a restaurant at this level. The sommelier was the only shining light. Meals were late, wrong meals delivered, meals were cold. The fish in the soba noodle dish was dry. The Wagyu beef was cold, dry and without taste. The spatchcock and chicken was also... More

Ok, 35th wedding anniversery, a special day requires a special restaurant and Wasabe lives up to it. Once again, the food and flavours are sublime but outstanding. The combinations make you want to know more. And the staff do know their food. They understand the food and are happy to impart their knowledge. Call me old fashioned, I recall the... More

I came here as part of a large group being capably led, and so never saw a menu or a wine list, and can only comment on what I ate myself. We had a seven course chef’s menu. All the courses were small, and despite having had some canapés prior, at another venue, and then having seven courses, I left... More

Wasabi is a class act, with a class riverside location and a class price list to match. My wife and I ate dinner there on Valentine’s Day and for simplicity chose the Wakeru menu for two: seven courses for A$98 per person, not including drinks. We have travelled widely in Japan and thought that overall the food was good, particularly... More

We had high expectations of this restaurant but from the start we were disappointed. From the grumpy waitress who took us to the bar area whilst waiting for other guests to one waitress spilling hot miso soup on my sisters dress (she actually wiped herself first before my sister). But the biggest disappointment was how expensive it is for what... More

Thursday last, as the Cyclone Marcia approached the coast, we celebrated my 60th at Wasabi. I believe it is our 6th or 7th visit and again it was all I wished for. Having booked 5 weeks out, I visited the restaurant twice to secure the table I wished for my celebration. I also requested of the chef, that he added... More

Wasabi has a great location on the Noosa River and the décor is top notch and the food is typical good quality Japanese but it is over-priced and nothing more that what you expect in most Japanese restaurants in Japan at a fraction of the price. Wine prices were over the top and far too expensive but this place has... More
