Description: Wasabi restaurant & bar, overhanging the scenic Noosa River, opposite the Noosa Recreation Reserve, is the brainchild of owner and Young Restaurateur of the Year Award recipient Danielle Gjestland. The entirely waterfront dining space has spectacular river views with amazing sunset vistas by day and a warm, contemporary, intimate dining space by night. Voted Queensland's #1 regional restaurant for the 2013 Good Food Guide, two chefs hats and listed in Gourmet Travellers top 100 restaurants , Wasabi's food has a contemporary sensibility that is still deep rooted in Japanese purity.

From the moment we walked in at 5pm until the moment we left, we were delighted with every aspect of our experience. This was our third faultless visit to Wasabi, but this visit in particular was out best experience yet. We arrived at 5pm and we were seated in the corner table with the best view of the amazing Sunset.... More

We had the 7 course tasting meal and 6 courses were fantastic, the only dud course was the tempura which was ok but certainly not in the same category as the King fish, the wagu, the the the the..... Will definately go back. Service was a bit intrusive but pretty good. Love the freshly grated wasabi at the table -... More

After our first visit to Wasabi, we booked again for a family occasion. Last time we went for dinner, this time we went for lunch. The river was busy with small craft providing an ever changing vista. Once again the food was exceptional. We had a 5 course Chefs choice and found the combinations and flavours an education for our... More

If you at all like the culinary experience, whether it be theatrical presentation of food, exquisite surroundings and ornaments, wonderfully attentive and knowledgeable staff or ...of course... the sometimes simple, sometimes complex mastery displayed in the menu. THIS is the restaurant that local chef's dine at. For me, I love the simplicity of brilliantly fresh, lovingly presented Japanese style food.... More

Immediately impressed by the room which is simple and modern but very comfortable. A mix of banquette seating with chairs and the tatami section. Three of us dined a la carte, sharing from the Oshinagaki and Futari sections of the menu. Between us we found 4 Oshinagaki and 2 Futari selections was a good balance and the right amount of... More

My partner and I recently had the greatest of pleasures. We visited Wasabi in Noosa for a meal. I have known of this restaurant for a number of years. I think initially the thought of the price might have deterred us, but on a special occasion we decided to book and give it a try. I can honestly say I... More

We absolutely love everything about Wasabi and spend every special occasion at this restaurant - it was my wife's birthday and yet again we were blown away. The produce is amazingly fresh and service and timing impeccable. Not being a biased local, but this is hands down the best dining experience over and above any restaurant we have had the... More

I walked from Sheraton to Wasabi in the cool of the evening...I was dining on my own as my husband was ill. Began with a gin fever cocktail...a chemical experiment. Absolutely delicious. The service was knowledgeable and attentive. Aga Dashi Tofu was made in house and was lightly battered with delicate miso flavours. Salads were pretty and light. Duck was... More

A six o'clock sitting on Saturday. Everyone calm and busy. A choice of a la cart or set menu . We chose a sashimi which was incomparable for the variety and purity of flavours. A tuna carpaccio was rich and complex. Our side order of pickles was the perfect counterpoint. A tempura of crisp prawns ,oysters ,fish and vegetables sublime.... More

Having experienced omakase elsewhere (eg. matsuhisa in Vail) degustation menus elsewhere (eg. Esquire), we thought the food was as excellent as reviewed by John Lethlean for the Australian. The timing between dishes could have been better. The portions for our 7 course omakase were quite modest in size (amuse bouche size), except for the final wagyu flank was deliciously tender... More
