We had high expectations of this restaurant but from the start we were disappointed. From the grumpy waitress who took us to the bar area whilst waiting for other guests to one waitress spilling hot miso soup on my sisters dress (she actually wiped herself first before my sister). But the biggest disappointment was how expensive it is for what... More

Thursday last, as the Cyclone Marcia approached the coast, we celebrated my 60th at Wasabi. I believe it is our 6th or 7th visit and again it was all I wished for. Having booked 5 weeks out, I visited the restaurant twice to secure the table I wished for my celebration. I also requested of the chef, that he added... More

Wasabi has a great location on the Noosa River and the décor is top notch and the food is typical good quality Japanese but it is over-priced and nothing more that what you expect in most Japanese restaurants in Japan at a fraction of the price. Wine prices were over the top and far too expensive but this place has... More

We had a lovely Valentines Day dinner and enjoyed it immensely. A quick question arises. Why serve a menu for two with only one oyster and one prawn in one of the dishes? False economy when we paid $250 for two?

Thank you so much for your kind words and we are glad you had a lovely Valentines Day. In answer to your question - We did have 2 prawns in our tempura, along with the other items, but no oysters. We had so many requests for tempura oysters that we wanted to add them to the dish but rather than... More

A party of 5 visited Wasabi and had the banquet along with beers and 3 bottles of wine. The account came to $1000 ($200 per head). We paid part credit card and part cash. The waitress stated we had shortchanged her $50 from the cash component when in fact this was not the case as we had just visited the... More

I am sorry you see it this way. Although this happened quite some time ago, I still recall the events of the evening as it was such an odd occurrence. The bill was collected from the table and walked 4 meters to the register where three staff were standing (including myself). With large amounts of cash, our policy is to... More

Being a lover of Japanese food we decide to go to Wasabi for our anniversary and see what it was like. We went with the 7 course Omakase menu, which gave us something more original than the classic Japanese offerings like tempura and sashimi that was in the Wakeru menu option, but still keeping with that very Japanese flavour and... It's not very often that you can be seated at a Restaurant that is truly exceptional - this is one that is just that. I simply cannot fault this Restaurant. All meals were beautifully presented, fresh - not a morsel was left on any of our plates! Staff were amazingly helpful and full of knowledge on the food being presented... More

We dined at Wasabi last night, just the two of us. Had only been here once before in a larger group, so it was lovely to try it by ourselves. After some indecision we chose the Omakase menu, taking the 7 course option. We opted to just buy wine by the bottle and glass and had great service from the... More

Excellent quality, presentation, service, ambience. Little on the expensive side, and small portions, but you cannot fault it. One of Australia's finest dining.
