Wasabi restaurant & bar, overhanging the scenic Noosa River, opposite the Noosa Recreation Reserve, is the brainchild of owner and Young Restaurateur of the Year Award recipient Danielle Gjestland. The entirely waterfront dining space has spectacular river views with amazing sunset vistas by day and a warm, contemporary, intimate dining space by night. Voted Queensland's #1 regional restaurant for the 2013 Good Food Guide, two chefs hats and listed in Gourmet Travellers top 100 restaurants , Wasabi's food has a contemporary sensibility that is still deep rooted in Japanese purity.

Japanese food at best

This is not a family restaurant as food and wines are expensive but it offers a unique experience if you like Japanese food. Shame the best desert is no longer offered (Japanese Plum Brulee)

Wasabi is the place in noosa to go for a true "foodie" experience. We chose the 3 course menus, and all of the 7 of us enjoyed our food . The lamb and tuna tartare were particular stand outs. Service was prompt, perhaps a little reserved but the meal was a memorable experience. The price was hefty, an example of... More

I am very happy to hear you enjoyed your evening with us. I have checked our wine list and you are correct, the Krug NV 350ml is not priced correctly. It returned to the menu not long ago and an error was made in calculating the sale price. For example when comparing our prices , we offer a bottle of... More

I love Wasabi - every time we visit my parents I insist on eating here to get my dose of delicious Queensland produce showcased as Japanese food. Wasabi is a world class restaurant and the residents of Noosa are extremely lucky to have it. I recommend the omakase - let the chef select a series of dishes to try which... More

If you seek perfection then this is for you! Undoubtedly one of the finest outlooks, with food and service to match. Exquisite food. Exquisite service. Excellent selection of wines. Not somewhere for the budget conscious. This is strictly first class. Plan for a long lunch, you won't to leave!

From the very start we were welcomed and given full attention by the staff in a manner of professionalism and style. The menu surprised me as it firstly appeared to be a set menu which I was not keen on. After some negotiation .... We modified the Sashimi to our personal needs and can honestly say, it was the best... More

This was extremely disappointing. The waitresses looked like they had a chip on their shoulder. A smile would be nice. I didn't realise that there was no a la carte. You had a choice of 3 or 7 course. My teenage kids were not interested in either, which made it very awkward. If I knew this I wouldn't have chosen... More

For a 2 hatted restaurant, our initial impression on entry was disappointing, we were met with a staff, who did not even say welcome, more busy finding her paperwork. The front of the restaurant looks like a storage place...on entry to our table it got better and we had a nice window seat. The staff were a bit lost on... More

We are a group of 6 foodies who dine out often. Most of us had been to Wasabi several times before and always enjoyed it. However, inexplicably, some three weeks ago, the owners decided to abolish ordering a la carte. You are now forced to to either have 3, 7 or nine courses and there is absolutely no choice of... I'm very sorry to read that you did not enjoy your dinner and please let me clarify a few things. We have NOT abolished our a la carte menu. I'm not sure why you think we did as it is clearly printed in the menu. Link to menu is below: http://www.wasabisb.com/wp-content/uploads/A-La-Carte-web.pdf Additionally, we offer 3 different tasting menus. Wakeru is... More

Being highly rated raises expectations. Wasabi doesn't disappoint. Food is beautifully presented, saki is matched to the food by competent and confident staff . A highlight to our Noosa visit. Take the ferry to set the mood!!

Wasabi sits RIGHT on the Noosa River, there is no road between the restaurant and the river, the only noise will be the odd small boat or paddle boarder going by. It is about 3 kms from Hastings Street and the nicest way to get there is by the small ferry which leaves behind the Sheraton Hotel. When you get... More
