Here at the earl of spencer, we see ourselves as a family friendly venue. We have a large beer garden that is non smoking, kids play area which will be updated this summer, live music every friday from 8pm & Sunday from 5pm and an all day menu that will be starting the second week in December. We have great selection of bottled cider and imported English, Scottish and French beer. We only sell Local Wines, which are all from the Great Southern Region. All of our meals area cooked to order, so our moto is, great food takes time.

Good food and historic atmosphere

We like the setting, being originally a shop and house attached. Converted into a restaurant, it has preserved historic features and photographs. We like the friendly service and the range of food available for lunch and evening meals. Inside and outside dining available. Parking available.

Really enjoyed the food, great atmosphere too but the waitress let you down! We were looking for r&r not listening to some lady rambling on about her family court issues and how she had to stab someone. Would come again for the food if the service was better.

The eating experienced ere was fine. Friendly staff, quick service and meals were as described. quite noisy but fine for us as we could still chat easily. Plenty of room. Nice fire.

We visit Albany every year, sometimes more often, and this was a place we had never been to, so we were looking forward to it. It was nice to walk in to an old worldly tavern, it was cosy inside but we sat outside in the beer garden as it was a lovely day. There was a good selection of... More

Recently visited the highly recommend historic bar, our group was let down by poor service and bad atmosphere. The menu was deceiving as many of our choices of meals and drink were unavailable. Bar service was poor as our orders were wrong several times and when asking for condiments we were slapped with a charge. The meals were average with... More

Lovely ambience, excellent food. Bit out of the way, but worth a visit. The 'in residence' Poet was the surprise, interesting & quirky!

While staying in Albany we went here for a dinner meal & found it to be excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection & my husband had the pork which was most enjoyable. Would recommend to locals & holiday makers for a wonderful meal, good service & cheery staff.

Always great food, extensive well thought out selection of all types of wine and ourbeer/cider, intimate dining area and timely service. The Trio of Pork is a menu favourite. Enjoyable old English pub with an Australian flavour. Off the main beat but worth finding to fill up!
