We were desperately hungry after a long drive and found this pub which was pretty packed out for a Sunday night so assumed the food must be alright. The dining area could do with an update but it was nice and warm inside. My husband ordered an entree of garlic prawns and a plate of ten prawns was brought out... More

Good harty, homecooked food. The portions were very generous, the prices quite reasonable and the staff very friendly. Also, one of the best kid's menu we've found. Our food was up there with the best pub meals.

I have always had a good experience eating here whether I am eating in the bar or in the bistro. The beer is nice and cold and the meals are large.

Seven close friends and all very disappointed. 3 t-bones that came out well over cooked, cold and tough. Two risottos which where disgusting, tasted only of starch, pre cooked rice mixed with an un seasoned cream sauce. A stir fry which was ok. And a fillet steak which was nice but served with cold soggy chips. The only highlight was... More

Good pub meals at pub meal prices, tasty, generous serves. Well presented. Pleasant surroundings, not too noisy. Lovely staff.

I am a local resident and the food here just keeps getting worse. Was the last straw tonight. I ordered the soy chicken sesame salad, pitiful salad, chicken was so over cooked there was no moisture left in it. Asked for refund. Felt sorry for the polite barman come waiter who was very apologetic...

We used to go there a lot, but one night we waited 2 hours for a meal - I don't know what the problem was, but when you have to 'pay up front' for a meal....and wait that long - your more than a captive audience. I am hoping it was a 'one off' because any other time we went... More

Expected good pub food, after 1 1/2 hrs. waiting for our food, it was dry overcooked and expensive. the other plates we saw looked great not ours though. Sorry i cant give an alternative as after that we stayed in at the London Motor Inn. So much better and a 1/4 of the price.

This was my first visit to the Town Hall Restaurant and I wasn't too impressed, the prawns weren't fresh and tasted like they had come straight out of the freezer. The ice cubes I asked to be added to my water also had some stale smell and flavour to them, not good. Overall it appeared to be a popular place,... More
