Great meal, good host

We dropped in early on a Saturday night after 10 hours in the car, Nowra-Melbourne-Seymour and we were given a nice table near the window. It was great to relax over a couple of drinks and excellent food. We had one of the best entrees of salt and pepper squid we had ever eaten, and delicious mains... read more

Friends on a country holiday – 10 of us. Looked good, had a few drinks outside in the shaded area & everything looked good for a great lunch. The building is actually a gallery restaurant & I was not interested in a gallery at that time so no comment re that. Enthusiastic host, more so than professional, but this is... More

Some people you just cannot please - 8 out of 10 ain’t bad. YES the restaurant is in a C1872 restored building that is a 7 room Fine Art Gallery in the ‘Country’! As the owners for over 20 years we try very hard not to be pompous & pretentious but friendly & courteous. More

Loved our dining experience at this restaurant. The fillet steak was cooked to perfection and the seafood crepe is highly recommended. Gary the host made us feel very welcome. Enjoyed looking around the Gallery while waiting for our food to be prepared. Great night.

A perfect place to stop when travelling from Wodonga to Melbourne. We had a yummy steak sandwich and cup of tea sitting in the garden. Very pleasant! Lovely staff too!

First time I have visited Seymour and glad I picked the Old Post Office for a meal. I ordered a medium rare eye fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection!! A couple of glasses of house red to wash it down made for a perfect meal!!

We both had a delicious meal which was served quickly. The art and craft work is superb and interesting to look at. Even though our prime objective was to enjoy dinner in an historic post office setting both another couple and us left with new purchases from the Gallery. Attentive service - highly recommended.

Great traditional meal, I had a porterhouse and my wife had the lamb rack, both were excellent. Value of the local wines really stood out, a lesson for our restaurants in NZ. An excellent bottle of Pinot Noir came in at $30.

Hospitality wonderful by the hosts Louise Barling and Garry Broderick, as usual. Good selection of sandwiches, hot finger good, wine and juice and of course the coffee was its usual great standard. The 45 bird and wildlife paintings of Paul Margocsy are a must see, truly not to be missed by both bird lover and art collector alike. This exhibition... More
