Very nice food... Courteous staff? Would pop in again if I was passing through. Very fresh and nicely cooked. Went down well after a long drive.

Wonderful fish & chips, but a bit pricey. They grill; not everything's deep fried. Sit along the river walk to eat. Picture perfect!

We have been here many times and it used to be great but on this occasion it was very ordinary. Flathead looked packaged and batter lacked that crisp just cooked taste. Calamari rings also looked like they came out of a box. Such a shame for a good old fish and chip shop in a great location. We will be... More

When one approaches the front of this shop, it promises so much with advertisements of freshly caught wild fish, etc, etc. However the actual experience when ordering and eating this food is average, nothing special. If you're hungry, its fine. Oh, and don't forget to bring your money as well. The chips are frozen. Fish and Chip shops need to... More

During our week in Tea Gardens we had take away from here twice. Fish and chips (the snapper) one night and hamburgers another. Both times we were extremely pleased with the taste, quality and value for money. Highly recommended, even when they're super busy. They are very efficient and friendly.

Nothing for dinner? then try Hook and Cook's black fish and chips. Usually the best value at $10.00. The fish is cooked to perfection and plenty of chips Well worth the money. Great friendly staff and if eating in the café the water views are beautiful or sit across on the council benches and feed the pelicans as well. Nice... More

As semi regular visitors to this sleepy hamlet, we always make sure we visit Hook and Cook. Make no bones of it, there is nothing flash about this place. Just good honest freshly caught fish and chips. This time we managed a couple of visits and sampled whiting, flathead and scnapper. They were all great but the schnapper was superb,... More

Unless you specifically ask for fresh fish. You'll get the frozen with slimey fish coated with batter. Hamburgers are the better choice. Very tasty.

We were lazy and craved a burger, food must be good because people were always hanging out the doors when we drove past. A good sign. Can understand why, the burgers are great, have to stand on them to get them in our mouth. I resorted to knife & fork!!!

It's always a joy to come across a restaurant serving quality local food without pretension. Such is Hook and Cook. Nothing fancy here- just honest service and good food. It's a diner- you order at the counter from a menu board printed on the wall then you find a place at a no frills table in the small serving area... More
