We dined here last week and were very impressed. No wonder it was busy. We had local Blackfish and chips..$11 and barra and chips...$15. Both generous servings of fish and delish chips. A little dearer than some but worth it. Sat opposite on river. The wait was only 15 mins even though busy. We will be back.

quality of food always consistent. Friendly staff. Great value and great position with views up the Myall River. You can buy your fish and chips and go across the road and sit by the river and enjoy them.

This fish and chip shop is excellent. Always well cooked and the fish is very fresh. Not your usual soggy oily meal, piping hot and crisp .

Hook and cook is renowned for serving the best fish and chips on the coast and it is true. It is my local chip shop and I have never had any better anywhere else.

What do you expect when you buy take-away fish and chips? For us, the important things are obviously the freshness of the food, and also the speed of service. Hook and Cook ticks both boxes. Nothing flash, but plenty of fish in each serve and a mountain of chips - all for $15. And sitting outside the takeaway, watching the... More

I never understood the fuss about fish and chips until I moved to Australia, and this place serves up the best I've had so far. Delicious.

Grabbed some takeaway fish n chips here on a quiet afternoon. Service was friendly and fast, servings generous, but the fish was a little on the dry side. Good chips. Wouldn't rush back, but ok given the limited options in the area.

While the owner watched everything the cashier did, the kitchen tried to keep up with the orders. It was busy, but not that busy. We waited over 30 minutes for 2 pieces of fish and a small chips. The fish (barra) was slimy, had bones still in it and greasy while the chips were limp and greasy - apparently you... More
