Very good service, food was mostly good although I didn't like some of my Chicken meal. Salt & Pepper squid fantastic & my husband got the Duck & was very happy with it. Over all made a very enjoyable evening

We held our wedding at Solitary Restaurant on a perfect January evening. Lynn was so helpful in organising the wedding and nothing was an issue for her. The food is delicious and all the staff are so friendly. It goes without saying that the view is spectacular. The Solitary team helped make our wedding the most special night of our... More

The disdain on the hostess' face was obvious when we arrived (we'd been walking along bush trails around Leura and were seeking some refreshment). There was a nasty smell of gas where we were seated, and a shriekingly loud table of 'Shire' people. We waited for quite a while to be served, but the place reeked of snobbery we didn't... More

When I see your pejorative description of other guests as "shrieking loud Shire people" with your allegations of arrogance, distain, and snobbery, I can't help but think that maybe it's your attitude that you're describing and not ours. All persons are welcome, and treated equally, at our restaurant, regardless of race, religion, class or where they live. I understand that... More

Bit out of the way so you need to be on a tour to find it. Happy our tour guide took us here for lunch, a bit pricy but the food was ok, loved the view.

Solitary is a personal favourite after three visits and looks like staying at the top of the list. We stopped in for a Saturday lunch and to my extreme delight I found Beef Cheeks on the specials menu. Omigod they were simply wonderful. My wife chose the tasting plate and thought it was very good. We would've tried out their... More

As part of the 'red bus' tour route we stopped here for afternoon tea. This is a beautiful part of the Blue Mountains and could be such a beautiful spot to have refreshments whilst taking in the surroundings. We were seated promptly outside however were told they weren't serving cakes - we could see the cakes inside. We asked for... More

We are disappointed that you did not experience a good afternoon tea with us. I've checked with the staff and it seems that there were a couple of misunderstandings here. Your drinks orders were confused and delayed by your changes and the waitress believed that your late order for juices was in lieu of the tea you first ordered. Our... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel as being quiet , good food in a great location & we were certainly not disappointed . Service was also excellent . One of our meals was not cooked as requested but the chef came out & personally apologised for the error & offered to make another replacement meal . Mistakes can... More

We were made to feel very welcome and on such short notice on a busy Sunday. I always look for strong recent reviews and the reviews were accurate as to the quality of the food, which was also very original. Lovely selection of wines and the deserts were to die for. Just wished we lived closer so as to make... More

These guys are on a main walking route, a long one. They should be prepared for walkers coming in looking for water. We arrived at 16.25, seeing that they closed at 16.30, we asked for an ice lolly to take away and to fill up our empty water bottles....the response was extremely rude and we left without either, extremely dehydrated... Sorry you feel this way. You must have missed the sign outside the restaurant (and on most local tourist maps) which directs you to the Leura Cascades Park, only a short walk away, if you want to find a public facility where you can fill your water bottles. Unfortunately we seem to get a lot of back-packers and hikers who... More

We are 2backpackers hiking at the blue Mountains. We ran out of water and we went to the restaurant to ask if we could fill up our bottels with tapwater and we even wanted to pay for it. We just got a short response: ' no, the Cascade is just that way' as she turned her head away. I just... More

We also get upset when we receive mischievous reviews such as this. As we recall your visit, you declined to purchase any of the bottled water we offer for sale, wanting us to fill your bottles instead, and then took unwarranted offence when directed to a public facility only a short walk further down the road where you could fill...
