Pros: The atmosphere was amazing. I had the crème brûlée and it was to die for. Cons: The prices were a little outrageous. There was nothing on the entrées list that someone not particularly fond of French food would order.

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening and it was very quiet. We had a table next to the window and the view was extraordinary! That's just about were a lovely evening stopped. The women who was serving us never smiled and seemed quite rude. She took a long time to bring out our drinks (cocktail, mocktail and glass... More

The Rooster has a new chef, trained in paris and has been in the trade for over 20 years and it is clear to see this chef knows what he is doing. We were 6 people, 3 of us my kids in a French restaurant. Not the sort of place I thought I would take my kids as they can... More

My wife and I almost gave this restaurant a miss after reading the bad reviews. However, we were encouraged by the many good reviews and decided to try it. You should ignore the bad reviews which were all before April 2014. This restaurant now has its act together (maybe a new chef) and the meal and the service were great.... More

Tonight was our 2nd wedding anniversary, and we really enjoyed taking in 3 courses looking over the jamison valley. Really relaxed atmosphere and great food. Enjoyed the escargot, and our french waiter Jawad, straight out of Paris, was happy to share the origins of the dishes with us. Thank you for a lovely evening!

We dropped in to this restaurant on a sunny day for lunch. The view from the outside tables is one of the best in the mountains, and the food was great. We had a lovely relaxed time with great service. The Salted Butter Caramel gelato was amazing!

I enjoyed our dinner at the Rooster in December 2014. The fare was typical French, well executed, the service was efficient and pleasant and the premises are delightfully quirky and cosy. The restaurant in across the road from what must be one of the best mountain views in Australia so if you are coming here it is nice to arrive... More

I know the french don't really do bacon & eggs for breakfast, but surely they know how to sauté mushrooms, poach an egg, and serve a decent baguette? Apparently not. I had the La Gourmand breakfast (Eggs on baguette with two sides mushroom, and bacon). It was as bad as it could possibly be. Dry, toasted, non-authentic baguette, served with... More
