The restaurant has been renovated with new bar and new toilet. We had main course and dessert only. The eye fillet is delicious but the Scallops with endive is more like an entree meal. Dessert creme brulee is delicious.

Came across this restaurant whilst driving around admiring the views. Great in every aspect, food, wine, service and atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would recommend to others travellers and would definitely return for seconds.

A third return stay under the new owners Ross and Monique both very helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us. Restaurant refurbish is commendable and in summer it will be great for breakfast and lunch. Full hot Breakfast was absolutely wonderful with the best fresh squeezed orange juice and hot coffee. We had dinner on both nights... More

We dined at The Rooster last week. First time we have been to this restaurant so I had an open mind & I hadn't done any research. The menu selection was good, the wine list extensive (a bit expensive) but I managed to do some tasting of an opened bottle - and it was good so ordered a French Style... More

The Rooster is what it is. A provincial French tabac in a lovely building with a killer view. If you are expecting fine dining or an "Aussie" version of a French restaurant you will be underwhelmed. The food is sound and the staff are hilariously French and can be very entertaining. So, if you dine with good company but without... More

Had mid week lunch here. We ordered Steak and a fish dish. Meat cooked very well. Sauce offered in small container looked like it had seen better days. Crepe suzette was a disappointment not very warm with what looked like brandy poured all over it and set alight. It was really overpowering and soaked up by the pancakes. No ice... More

Wowee! Drove past this place a few times and then finally went there for dinner. Wonderful, French atmos and lovely French waitress. I had the steak with bernaise sauce and it was "tres magnifique"! Desserts were also top class. This one's a winner. "Bon appetite!"

We visited The Rooster with friends for the girls birthday dinner. There was once again lovely background live music. We brought a couple of bottles of bubbly with us and there was no problem in keeping them cool or serving them $9 corkage. Most of the party had escargot, unfortunately all agreed that they were quite bland. I had the... More

After so many recommendations from friends we visited here for dinner. For entree had snails and soufflé both very plain. Snails tiny in size. For mains we had beef bourg and lamb cutlets - portions tiny especially the lamb. Beef flavoursome but average. Desert lemon meringue tart which was very sweet and crepe suzette terrible as the sauce poured over... More
