27 years on - Still going bonne!!

We decided to get married when we dined at this restaurant 27 yrs ago. On a whim we went past to see if it was still there. With a very inviting decor we enjoyed a lovely dinner of beef bourguignon and a chicken dish. Both were very good. Atmosphere chic, but understated. The service is laissez... read more

We dropped in for an early cocktail and asked for a negroni which is a well known cocktail consisting if 3 parts Campari, vermouth and gin. Top $ 5 star restaurant never paid more $20 for a negroni. Well our French hosts kindly charged us $47 for one cocktail as they charged by the shot so Bombay gin at a... More

Very reasonably priced and excellent French food. We enjoyed the food and service immensely. If you are in the area and want a great meal, I can highly recommend the Beef Bourguigon and Charcuterie.

We recently experienced a degustation dinner with friends at this wonderful restaurant. The whole evening was superb. The food was amazing and the staff friendly, professional and very French. Ten courses over several hours served with lovely wines, in beautiful surroundings, will be a wonderful memory for us all.

We arrived early afternoon on friday and after our french host offered to bring our stuff outstairs he then busied himself teaching the waitresses how to pronounce the daily special in english very cute. The food was what i would call technically correct. I ordered beef bourgoine and got exactly that. A rich red wine sauce with beef melting with... More

We were treated to a meal here today as part of a Blue Mountain Tour and what a treat it was. The food was excellent the service was also second to none. The guys who run this establishment are French and obviously know what they need to do to make their customers happy, the food came quickly and was very... More

After a hapless search for a decent restaurant in Katoomba last night we happened upon The Rooster today . Genuine French Ambience , good food and excellent presentation . OK not the cheapest in town but worth the detour from the town center . Recommended .

We had a delightful 3 course lunch today as part of a Blue Mountain tour. We were treated by Charles, a very pleasant young man from Paris. We started with a wonderfully hot potatoes and leek soup. We chose a nice glass of French wine to go with our meal. Next we were served the fish of the day which... More

We arrived and we're greeted by the matre de who introduced us to the the very French waiters who were going to look after us for the night. The food and service were great and not to be faulted. The wine selection included a mix of local and French wines. Finally, the atmosphere was complemented by live entertainment that did... More

Although we are long-time Blue Mountains residents, we had never dined at The Rooster. Last week our three daughters gave us a dinner at this restaurant as part of a stay at The Carrington to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The Rooster restaurant and guesthouse is situated on Cliff Drive, Katoomba, and enjoys a direct view out over the Jamison Valley... More
