Now under new Management, it is a must visit! The menu is varied, with French Classics like Escargots (it was superb), The Boeuf Bourgignon was cooked to perfection, the lemon tart was freshly made too. The views are fantastic and the service is Friendly. At lat a good French Restaurant in the Blue Mountains….and I should know I am a... More

My partner and I stumbled onto this restaurant by accident as we just finished our trek around the Blue Mountain National park. We had been walking around for about 3 and half hours and we were starving. The menu options looked amazing which made it hard for selection but with a bit of help from our French waiters, my partner... More

This place changed management 6 weeks ago and it is now incredible. The views, the food, the atmosphere and the service was 10 out of 10. The owner was really friendly and came over to our table to chat and even told us the secret to one of their sauces. It's alway nice when the people that work in a... More

Recently the Rooster changed hands. Over the last couple of months major renovations have taken place & last night we took advantage of a stunning autumn evening to sit at one of the newly installed outdoor tables & have one of the best meals with one of the best wines we have ever had. Still very french in menu &... More

I discovered The Rooster restaurant and Jamison Guesthouse when a good friend got married in the garden across the road and stayed there for her honeymoon. Since then, I have made the pilgrimage from Sydney at least ten times to feast on the delicious French food and wine, then crawl up the stairs to stay in the cushy European-styled room.... More

Warm, cosy, inviting and intimate - the atmosphere of The Rooster is the first impression then the waiter greets you and you know you are in for a true French gastronomic experience. In fact it's the combination of the only waiter as he expertly shimmies back and forth between all tables and the fine French food that makes this restaurant... More

Once the 'best' restaurant in the Blue Mountains, the Rooster has been standing still where others are running forward. It's all fine... the food is of a good quality, the room is fun in a European mountains kind of way, the wine list acceptable. We have been going annually for nearly 10 years as part of an annual trip and... More

Make the trip up the hill for the experience but primarily for the' froggy' grub. We were ravenous after our excursions on the walking tracks,so an order of escargots bourguignon and the eponymous onion soup gratinee, suited the need and thrill of what's to come. Yummy! The owner recommended a bottle of 1999 Cape Mentelle-Margret River,WA. Superb!! We were ready... More

Was taken here by a fantastic host prior to an industry forum. Thank you Randall. Good food, good wine, good atmosphere and great company. This was the first time I had eaten at a French Restaurant and it won't be the last. I could only fit in two entrees and a mains which was unfortunate because all of the deserts... More

It was a cold wintry night but inside it was warm and cosy. We had a delicious hearty dinner, couldn't quite finish our generous mains but that was probably because we had eaten so much of the irresistible warm, crust bread beforehand. We felt well fortified for the return walk to our hotel.
