Great lunch

Called in here for lunch on a cold, wet Katoomba afternoon. The place was busy and warm. Staff are very friendly and found us a table straight away. The food is great. The food is correct but the prices a bit expensive. The atmosphere is not like you feel in an Asian restaurant. Definitely not the best Asian food in Katoomba.

After a long drive we emerged from the mist and pouring rain into this small but busy restaurant. Tired hungry kids were immediately fed with lovely steamed bbq pork buns and large hot chocolates. The $9.90 fish and chips was an overflowing plate of crispy battered fillets, fresh salad and chips perfectly executed. The sambal fish and sate beef had... More

Had planned on going for an evening meal but realised it wasn't open on Tuesday nights so went for lunch instead. Glad we did as the prepared dishes - a choice of 8 meat and vegetarian - were very tasty and filling and very good value. Around $7 for a choice of 1 "main" along with fried rice or noodles... More

Stumbled upon the Bamboo Box after arriving into Katoomba desperate for breakfast. The staff there are very friendly and we ordered the bacon and egg roll with small coffee combo and it didn't disappoint. Lovely fresh bread rolls, trimmed bacon and perfectly fried eggs. The coffee was delicious. It was all very well priced. For a quick feed in the... More

Good food, reasonably priced, we only ate there the once but enjoyed what we had. Staff friendly. We were staying across the road in the Carrington hotel, we only used it once. Intended to use it again but was out and about.

Went there last week, having read the TA reviews, it was very busy and there was just one waitress! She was doing her best, but it was more than she could cope with! No cold water, no ice for ice bucket to keep wine cold on a hot night. The food was pretty average too. Wouldn't recommend it!

Located within walking distance close to Katoomba train station, opposite of the Carrington hotel, this small restaurant is often patronized by tourists and locals for their meals. Available for dine in or take away, it caters a variety of Asian food, mainly to Chinese cuisine. Tried the nasi goreng Malaysian style and Singapore noodles, though the nasi goreng is quite... Probably walk past this place 9 times out of 10, decided to go in because of positive reviews on this site, looks ordinary, plain cafe seating, but had delicious pork Szechuan and would recommend you try it.
