Came here for lunch as my boyfriend has been here many times before. I had the pie and pickle platter and there was a lot of food. The homemade breads were delicious and the platter came with salad and fruit as well. Good selection of food and drink on the menu and the prices are reasonable.

We called here on recommendation of a friend. I am so glad. We asked for a table in half an hour's time, for six plus high chair and they managed to squeeze us in. The other part of our group was late, then the toddler wouldn't sit in the high chair. Nothing fazed them, they went out of their way... More

Visited here with my boyfriend after it was recommended by my mother in law. We didnt book but the waitress managed to get us seated in the couch area upstairs. I ordered a ham and pease pudding sandwich which was massive and simply delicious! My boyfriend had the quiche which i had to steal a bite or two as it... More

What a gem of a place. We booked a table earlier in the week - you need to book. For the price the quality is great and we certainly will be back. We opted for the tea for two, where you select a home made pastery, followed by a sandwich, scone and cake. I ate every thing but might have... More

Having visited many times I called in for a tea and Sandwich. I sat outside for 20 mins and was never approached by any staff. Eventually went in and asked for a menu. Waited another 20 mins wothout being attended to. Approached a member of staff to take my order. The wrong sandwich came. It was changed to my liking.... More

Good, honest local service and food. Obviously trying hard. Outside area could be better but it was plain that the place was popular with locals.

This last visit was mine and my partners second vist to The Running Fox. I did not review it the first time because i always like to give places a second go. As i believe consistency. Consistency is obviously key within this establishment. We had the hight tea which is resonably priced and you can guarantee you will be boxing... More

Yes, it's popular so obviously it's busy. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is a trouble to them. The food is excellent and not run-of-the-mill. Best if you book. Even arriving late after getting stuck in a bank holiday traffic jam we were accommodated with the minimum of fuss. Highly recommended.

Yes it is difficult to get a table - the Running Fox is well known for being excellent so it's very popular. We were visiting a number of artists in Felton on the North East Artists 2014 Art Tour and I asked what time they could fit us in. The food is excellent! They are a little over generous with... More

Waited 45 minutes for food before walking out. A couple that arrived five minutes after us were given menus before us. I made sure we ordered before them. Another couple that arrived about 25 minutes after us were served before us, and the couple that arrived five minutes after us were also served before us. Our drinks arrived after about... More
