Heaven sent!

Wonderful afternoon tea. What more can I say! Great service too. You truly won't be disappointed. This is my second visit and planning to return. Practically everyone leaves with a doggy bag. Little gem and great value.

Small but wonderful little place. Impressive cream tea with 'endless coffee'. Good food, great cakes and a spectacular bread selection within the side store counter. The only criticism was a very small selection of vegetarian sandwiches on the menu, but the staff did alter a sandwich at my request without hesitation. Would definitely recommend it.

I've been here a few times now and the food is always good, very fresh and tasty. My favourite is the croissant with bacon, mushroom and cheese. The pie and quiche are good value too, the size of a door stop! It's nice to be able to buy the products too to take home.

This was my third visit up to the Running Fox, and it certainly won't be my last. If you like afternoon tea, THIS is the place to go - on my travels, I have not found a single place that even comes close! Everything is freshly baked, and there is tons of choice. Firstly, a massive sandwich followed by either... More

Famous last words of, 'I'll just have..' and I'm tucking into more than a coffee. Just couldn't resist trying the baked goods.

If you love afternoon tea, this is your Nirvana. Exceptionally friendly and attentive staff, idyllic surroundings and some of the best baked goods that I have ever eaten and I bake constantly. Fantastic value for money. I'll return as often as possible!

If like me you like strolls through little towns and villages, which boast nothing but cafes, then you too will know the feeling of glee when you think you've found 'the one'. This is not 'the one'. It is very popular and I can only guess it's because there's nothing much else location wise like it. However I was completely... More

I go in regularly for takeaway cakes, bread eggs and various other bits and bobs, but decided to sit in with my brother after a heavy night. They managed to squeeze us in without a reservation despite being busy, we ordered 2 sharing platters and a melt to share and and as always the food was of the highest quality... More

Having had a terrible meal on the motorway on our journey to Alnwick, we decided to do better for breakfast on the day we left. I had read reviews of the the Running Fox and chose to go there before we left for home. We were there as they opened and everyone was so friendly. The array of cakes and... More
