Wonderful afternoon tea

I'm not generally a fan of afternoon tea but loved The Running Fox and would go back in a heartbeat. Great selection of cakes, sandwiches and pies/quiches - you get to choose every element so you don't end up with bits you don't like, as you often do elsewhere. Endless tea also a huge plus! We have always wanted to try the Fox so when a friend booked a table for ten we jumped at the chance! Friendly staff showed us upstairs to a lovely decorated room and a menu full of delights .. It's small but just a lovely place to be..and the food is delicious .. Believe all home made and I can... More

My Daughter took me here today as shes been several times but my first visit and all I can say is the food is AMAZING and all home made, the place was busy and apparently its always like that which does not surprise me. Our food was delicious and on the way out couldnt resist the goodies on offer so... More

I found out about The Running Fox by accident, after overhearing somebody talking about how good it was. I hurried home, looked it up on the internet and decided to book a table there and then. I was glad that I had booked beforehand, as not long after we arrived it started to fill up quickly. From the menu we... More

Lovely little cafe they do all kinds of hot and cold food but i wouldn't say they were a meal, only for a lunch time. fab array of cakes and biscuity bits and they also do a great bacon sandwich! I think they're quite expensive but some of the stuff is definitely worth it! Great customer service and all the... More

After receiving a 'sparkling afternoon tea for two' gift voucher off my friend for Christmas, we decided to make an afternoon of it and invited the rest of the girls along. We booked in advance as there were 11 of us and wanted to make sure we got a table, which I'm pleased we did as it was very busy!... More

We came here for a rest stop after a long drive. I had the steak sandwich on salsa Verde with the potatoes of the day. It was really nice and I really enjoyed it. My other half had a chicken and leek pie. It had been home baked and should have been delicious. Sadly. They ruined it by putting it... More

we we're told of this place by friends so we thought we would visit it ourselves, we were pleasantly surprised, it is a great place to stop and have a soup and sandwich for lunch. the food is great and the bakery downstairs is fantastic, best ever meringues, crisp on the outside and sticky in the middle.
