We were in the area and this lovely coffee shop / artisan bakery had been recommended by a relative so we called in on spec just after 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. It was very busy but we managed to get a table inside and while we were there it was constantly full. Not being a great lover of cakes... More

Very good food at a reasonable price. I wide range of good food, cakes and bread. I had the beef and Stilton burger, excellent. In high periods you probably need to book.

I was taken to the Running Fox at Felton by someone who had been a couple of times before and had been impressed by the food. The place is a compact, friendly Coffee Shop and Artisan Bakery with seating on the ground floor, upstairs and a couple of outside tables.. It was lunchtime and the place was packed. The only... At first I thought my experience today was just me, after reading feedback and reviews it's clearly not. This cafe is highly recommended, and as a birthday treat my friend wanted to take me and my son for afternoon tea. After suggesting more than a few options that were cheaper, posher and much nearer to home, my friend decided on... More

Came here with my boyfriend and his friends for afternoon tea. Got more than we expected scones were delicious as was the chocolate cake. Had to take the cake home as the portions were huge. Highly recommend here would be best to book as it's so busy!

Great food, lovely atmosphere and amazing portion sizes. Try and book a table as busy, the meat and cheese platter was brilliant

We were booked for afternoon tea (which was a birthday gift) .There was a choise of sandwiches and either pie or quiche followed by scones and cake served with a good pot of tea all were fresh and a good selection to suit all tastes. I am afraid we were not able to do it full justice as we were... More

Visited this excellent cafe on holiday and enjoyed coffee and cake. The bakewell slice was not as almondy as I like but texture and presentation were good. Great atmosphere .

Went for afternoon tea after a recommendation. Not really impressed, quiche pastry was soggy, scones dry and lemon cake (which I took home) was nothing out of the ordinary. Having said that, it is in a beautiful village! Also not impressed with the chipped teapot!

Thanks for your comments. We do have our own team of bakers who work tirelessly to supply us with fresh and homemade bread, cakes, pies, quiches and scones every day, so its disappointing to hear that we did not quite 'get it right' on this occasion. We hope that you give us another chance and come back and visit us... More
