Been wanting to go to the running fox for sometime - few seats outside which were all full as it was a lovely sunny day - had heard to book is best but we thought we would try and lucky we were able to get a table for two but the downstairs was all full and upstairs we all reversed... More

Got recommended by a friend and it was amazing as told it would be! The staff we're lovely! It was very popular so if your planning on going make sure you book a table! But you won't be disappointed! The afternoon tea that we went for was incredible! Good luck to anyone having it though as no one that was... More

A need for sustenance lead me to this place thanks to a recommendation from my dear friend's mother so there we were at 9:15am. It's advisable to ring ahead as there is limited spaces available. On entering the premises there is the smell of cooked breads - this places cooks a myriad of different breads, cakes and scones. We were... More

We arrived at The Running Fox at approximately 1:30 and the bakery is obviously very popular as the queue was out of the door. Due to the large number of customers queuing, eating on the picnic tables in front of the bakery and customers who had been served leaving, the entrance was a little bit manic. We wanted a table... I have been to The Running Fox several times and am always impressed with the service and food. Was slightly disappointed yesterday that I was unable to have a cold drink with my afternoon Tea (I have always in the past & this is the only place that I now haven't been able to have a cold drink). Choice of... More

Stopped here whilst walking St.Oswalds Way, to be greeted by an abrasive member of staff. A tall woman with fair hair, tied back, who unfortunately seemed to be in charge. We did stay and the food and cafe was lovely. I should add the other members of staff were lovely

I've visited the running fox several times over the last few years and until December 2014 as one can see from my reviews had plenty of praise. After poor experience then we visited again to similar effect. On arrival there was confusion as the staff were too busy dealing with the queue in the bakery. All three of us ordered... More
