Fantastic doorstop sarnies

Great little spot, you can struggle to get in at busy times so best think ahead, fab sandwiches, cakes fairly up there too,, really good bread, great for lunch or a nice cup of coffee with cake.

This place just gets better & better, I must say one of my favourites. Exceptional good quality home cooked food, plenty of it with good value for money. You won't be disappointed but you must book.

A group of 8 girlguide leaders enjoyed superb aftenoon tea to celebrate two leaders retiring from running there unit. One leader who has 45 years service had the gluten free menu. Could not fault. The rest enjoyed sanwiches pies cream scones and cake with never ending teas and coffee. The best place for afternoon tea and great friendly staff.

Brilliant service, excellent food - can't recommend it enough. Every afternoon tea I have after this will only be disappointing! Excellent choice of sandwich, lovely quiche or pie, gorgeous scones and choice of cake. No-one leaves there hungry. Excellent quality too. All washed down with unlimited cups of tea - all for £10 a person. Can't wait to go back.

I met a friend for lunch here. There is an extensive menu - plenty of choice for vegetarians plus a specials board. I had goats cheese and chutney on a 'door step', it was a large portion and delicious. A great choice of drinks too. Reasonably priced, 2 lunches came to £13. We had to book a table and I... More

A group of friends and I sampled the delights of The Running Fox recently for lunch. We were not disappointed - good food, pleasant surroundings and friendly service. The Running Fox isn't a big place, so can get packed out very quickly - this is also because the word has obviously got round about how good it is. They also... More

We had been recommended to visit by friends who had been. We were told to take a seat round the corner. Finding the window seat empty we sat down. There were 5 empty tables when we went in. Seconds later the waitress came back and said "there, not there" pointing to the seat by the wall. We moved as we... More

Without a doubt I had the best burger ever here. A great combination of good meat and we'll made roll, with new potatoes instead of chips.

a mothers day/birthday treat, absolutely amazing food..... tea for 2 with delightful sandwiches followed by a lovely slice of pan heggarty then an enormous fresh cream scone and a choice of cake which was the best ever bit of chocolate fudge cake I've eaten. The menu has lots to choose from whether you want just a scone or slice of... More

Whilst on holiday in the area my friend and I had been recommended to try the Running Fox, we have stayed in Northumberland many times but never been to Felton. When we arrived at about 2.40pm there was a little doubt whether they could accommodate us for just coffee and cake as they start serving afternoon tea at 3pm but... More
