Afternoon tea

We were recommended this restaurant and it did not let us down. We did pre book a good while before as we had been told it got really busy, but although it was full the staff were friendly and service was great. The afternoon tea was lovely, even had to take our cake home for supper as it was... read more

We did book two weeks in advance but worth it - Brie walnut and chutney on artisan was to die for! Four of us had the afternoon tea - very reasonably priced too - and munched as much as we could before boxing the rest up and taking it home. Coffee cake was a little treat later that night -... What a find, greeted by smiling staff offering a varied selection of sandwiches, pies, makes and quiche's. Our party of four picked different items all of which were substantial without losing the quality. My Brie with pickle was moist , creamy and delicious followed by an enormous thick mince pie, I passed on the cheese scone and ate a sticky ginger... More

First time at The Running Fox for afternoon tea as a lovely treat from my daughter. It was highly recommended by her friend and it certainly lived up to its expectations! We were promptly shown to our table by a very helpful lady who explained what we could have for our tea. Although there was not an awful lot of... More

With a group of cyclists all had food. Scrambled eggs, beans on toast, mince pie and cheese scone were ordered. All of us enjoyed what we had and would return.

Food is fantastic and very tasty, sandwiches are cracking, cake is scrumptious (take some away with you) and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I cannot believe that some customers rate this as anything other than excellent. Give it a try, that's the only way you are going to find out - I thoroughly recommend it.

Nice village location and surroundings pleasant, easy parking, food a bit of a let down with regard to taste but if you like huge portions with bread doorstops this is the place to go

We booked a table for lunch in the Running Fox as we had tried to eat there in May but had been unable to get a table. Excellent service by the very friendly staff, lovely light lunch, I had the steak and ale pie with salad, it was very good, my mother had salmon omelette which she was also very... More

Fab afternoon tea, fantastic selection of all things. Large portions of food and a great price! Great girly afternoon or family outing. Can sit outside in the sun or inside. You can have a box to take what you cant manage home which is much needed! Been twice now and already planning to go back.
